So Lukaku the guy the got outshone at the worldcup and has done literally feck all for Chelsea has just sold for 30 million. There is some dodgy shit going on. Chelsea clearly are using this as a method to front their way past FFP. They "Pay 30" Chelsea will no doubt give them some money on the sly. This way have freed up 30 million from a "sale". Its so dodgy.

What a crock of shit, it means people will pay a ton of money for a share in the club and the club will recieve nothing, it will simply line the pockets of the owners.....lord almighty. Yet here we are scoffing at an extra couple of million for Vidal....

It is the Glazers own shares they are selling!

Yeah, that's certainly an opinion.

Not really. He's an excellent poacher and a much more reliable striker then welbeck. Welbeck is pretty good but he's not a good goalscorer, until he scores more then 12 in a season that will continue. Hernandez has twice scored 20 goals in a season, despite always being a squad player and mostly a sub. In his 3 seasons under Fergie, welbeck was only picked ahead of him in the second season (first he was out on loan I think), so you can't say fergie rated him higher.

I said Fergie saw Hernandez as the most expendable. I stand by that.

Yeah feel sorry for him because he gave them £27m of that cash.

He was generating that kind of cash when City started buying their players a while ago but never re-invested it in any meaningful way. He was making do with strikers like Saha on a free, Hugo Rodallega etc.

I dont get it....so we will have owners in the Glazers, but then they will sell some of that ownership? who is then the voting party? why would anyone want to buy shares in something that has no value? So owners in the glazers selling some of their ownership and an earlier share float in which random companies own miniscule shares in the club?

My head is spinning.

People buy shares because they think its a valuable investment and as long as the Glazer family trust owns more than 70%, they will remain the decision making owners of the club.

There were some publicly owned shares (NY stock exchange listed and tradeable) and some privately owned shares (Glazers).

Now there will be slightly more public and slightly less private.

What's hard to understand?

Thanks. I just needed the run down in lamens terms. So all in all why would anyone do this and what benefit/Hinderance to the club could it have?

Shaw's replacement? They were linked with Marcos Rojo, but have ended up with Bertrand on loan  oh dear, another shit news for Soton fans.

Why - it's a good deal for Southampton.
Its a little strange, they have shit loads of cash from all the sales they have made and have just taken a player who is sort of on the fringes on loan?

Doesn't bode well for the Southampton fans who think they'll splash the cash this summer, although Bertrand is decent

Seems legit

From having some top young talents at their club they're now loaning in other young players from other clubs who will no doubt feck off after a season. Feel sorry for their fans, I'd be fuming.

If Hernandez started 40 games a season for the likes of us, Chelsea or City he would bag 20 goals easily imo. When he moves on I have no doubt that he will score goals for fun.

I disagree. Always thought he is much better coming off the bench, he has rarely impressed me starting games to be honest. I like him and think he is a great option on the bench....but he doesnt seem to like this anymore, I think his confidence has been affected by a lack of starts and appearances.
I do think as a box player he is very good and I do like him for his effort and how he comes across but I do think its probably best for him and the club to move on. Interesting to see how he does at another club starting, hope he does well.

I prefer it when you tell us that Vidal isn't signing for the umpteenth time I think... ;)

Why do people buy shares in companies? To make money.

Benefit/hinderance to the club? I don't know the details so not entirely sure but if as said above Glazers keep above the controlling limit then it shouldn't have much affect on the club at all.

It's apparently with an option to buy. I didn't want Bertrand at Liverpool, but he's a decent enough player. He's relatively young, English and has room for improvement.

He wasn't convincing at Aston Villa so I was hoping Chelsea would be stuck with him
