He is. As a squad player, 4th choice striker he's excellent and has a knack of scoring really important goals but he's very limited and even the goals dried up last year. I'll be sorry to see him go because he could be a really useful member of the squad, he's provided some great moment and seems like a genuinely nice person but he has to move if he wants to be a regular starter.

He's better than Welbeck.

He's off isn't he :( Couldn't blame him mind. He was struggling for game time last season when we had CL. Without it he's barely going to get a sniff.

If we play with 2 strikers regularly, with Welbeck filling in out wide here and there, there's every chance he'll get plenty of games.
All it'd take is VP or Rooney having a spell out. VP had about 3 spells out last year.

Chelsea are masters at signing youth prospects for cheap, farming them out on loan then making a decent profit later.

True.
Unless you ignore the sh!tloads of youngsters they harvest and then spit out, never heard of again.

Hernandez's finishing is vastly overrated as well, especially when he's one on one with the opposition keeper. He's not better than Welbeck, but his positioning and goalscoring instinct in the box are better at the moment.

The last year or so his finishing has been pretty poor actually yeah. He's missed a few sitters for Utd and Mexico I think. Maybe it's just a dip though, always thought he was a fantastic finisher before that.

Hernandez isn't the weak link in your set of strikers.

It's incredible how the majority of United fans who regularly watch the United match have that opinion but a Liverpool fan who I'm assuming doesn't see that much off United matches comes here and posts his opinion as a fact. It's almost as if he's talking bullshit.

It would be incredibly naive to use his lack of goals last season as an indictment on him after how he was managed by Moyes.

He's better than Welbeck.

At what? Miscontrolling the ball and falling on his arse? Hernandez has missed more sitters than Welbeck over the past season, but let that old narrative continue. Welbeck is better and by some distance right now.

Why do they need another winger? Also he is not English nor does he play for Southampton.

They're making a big noise about not "doing a Tottenham", yet seem to be stockpiling a sh!tload of attacking options.
It'll turn out the same as Tottenham for sure. Under achieving.

Hernandez seems to have lost that edge, in general he seems a lot less sharp than he did two-to-three years ago. It's to be expected with limited game time, but yeah, he's definitely inferior to Welbeck. The only thing he has in his favour is his movement and positional sense, which Welbeck can - to an extent - compensate for with his ridiculous pace.

According to?
To be honest, this sounds a bit like Chelsea fans saying that Luiz only cost them ~£25m

http://www.nieuwsblad.be/sportwereld/cnt/DC3DOMDV

We never paid £18m straight up for him, most reports will be quoted as saying the transfer could be up to £18m-£20m. He hardly played for us though.

BREAKING NEWS btw, Lukaku completes move for £28m. Official.

Great signing for Everton that, Chelsea will regret selling him in 1-2 years.

Nearly 30m for Lukaku.

People complain about the English youngsters, but this is an insane price.

£28m? Wow. Surely that's Everton done for the summer? What is that, him and Besic?

Evra. :(

I do watch the majority of United games as youse are on TV so often. Hernandez is extremely underrated on here and he's one of the best strikers in the league. United supporters are more partial to Welbeck due to the fact that he's Mancunian.

I love Hernandez but this is absolute bullshit. Jesus.

A player wants to leave United and suddenly he's the dog's bollocks, not a surprise.

Although it wouldn't be naive to observe his main strength is his goalscoring and the fact he missed quite a lot of good chances last season whist contributing little else.

Nope, not been the same player for a few years now. That's down to not being played and a huge dip in confidence, but he's actually pretty correctly rated in here by the majority.
