Romelu Lukaku move from Chelsea to Everton set to be confirmed - fee of around €30m. Means Fernando Torres not leaving #CFC this summer #EFC

Also means Atletico will go after Chicharito more firmly. We anyway can do with one less striker. A fee of at least 20MP should be demanded.

£25 million is a lot when you consider Chicharito will probably go for a fee closer to £12 million.

Why would he go for £12 million? We have fair few clubs asking for his services and can push clubs to pay in region of 20.

That's a big fee for Lukaku, I know he has been good for Everton but it's basically their previous transfer record doubled. With players like Borini being priced at £14m though they might have been able to save a few million by buying someone else but that money would have gone down the drain if it hadn't worked out. With Lukaku they know exactly what they get.
He'll be worth it. Few strikers who at the age of 20 have his experience and talent. He will be a beast for years to come, still loads of time to improve. Worth the investment I reckon. If Lukaku put his head down and actually fought for his place at Chelsea, I reckon he would be 2nd choice after Costa.

Got to admire how we 'prepare bids' and 'monitor' situations though
Yep. Woodys fax machine must be knackered. He needs to pull his finger out. Herrera and Shaw feel like they've been at United for years it's been that long since they signed. Praying it will explode soon

I don't think we will get anywhere near £20m. All clubs that will be after him will be cautious with their money after his last season.

His last season wasn't that great because he simply didn't play that much and overall team was very poor. Fact remains that he is very good forward who will still have his best ahead of him. For someone like Inter he can be their marquee signing. In match against us, it was clear that they don't have good scoring options. A look at their squad shows only 2 strikers on their book. One is Palacio who is 32+ and other is Icardi who is very young.

I'd be amazed if we got £20 million for him.

Only way it can be 12MP if we have really stinker of a negotiation. If we can get around 5 for Buttner then surely we can do better than 12 for Chicharito. If not 20, 17-18 and some in add-ons. 12 is too low for him when you see club like Sunderland paying 14 for Borini.

Algeria's World Cup goalkeeper (made a great impression) Rhais Mbolhi, has joined MLS side Philadelphia Union from my hometown club CSKA Sofia for a fee of 300 000 euros.
He's a good keeper and was heavily linked with Porto, but now he'll be playing in the US. Good bargain for the MLS side to be fair, for that fee he'd have been a decent buy for almost everyone.

Not really transfer related, but since it's from Twitter:

Something is seriously wrong in that country, i'm starting to realize why the Brazilians (and others?) are trying to force moves away from Shakhtar.

Not shocking that Hernandez is the unfortunate weak link in our group of strikers that looks to be sold.

And is there anyway we could be in for Schneiderlin? Or is his transfer request basically being used to push things forward to Spurs? I think he'd be a quality signing for us.

It's hardly because of fans fighting (which happens with a lot of clubs/in a lot of countries, not just there) that they're not wanting to go back to Ukraine.

I know that, but a country in war (parts of it at least), while security ''allow'' (non existent?) fans of the 'home'-team (or fans from other teams, who knows?), just screams general trouble in my opinion

I think Schneiderlin seems to be keen to join his old boss at Spurs. If he leaves Southampton, I'd be very surprised if it was to any other club.

So we've lost Giggs, Evra, Rio and Vidic confirmed. Chicha and Felliani to follow by the sounds of it. Just Herrera and Shaw in so far. Get that cheque book out Eddy.

Particularly if LVG wants to play 352 with the option of going to a 433 as he'll need to give what wingers he keeps that aren't wingbacks game time. He's already alluded to needing a winger supposing Nani is off and that winger may get other game time as a striker as pre-season has shown if they're not as defensively strong as Young/Valencia.

They originally paid 20m for him, you have to take that in account.

Yeah, you do - another fair point.

The suggestion seems to be from some that Chelsea have some kind of genius operation on the go when selling players, whe bathe reality is that they buy a lot of players - especially young players, who they then don't have room for.

It's not comparable to United's position, or many other clubs. When we move players on in recent years, its usually because they're not looking like being of the required level, as is the case for most clubs.

Ben Thronley would rather us spend 25-30m on a defender than spend it on Vidal who he admitted he doesn't know much about and had a disappointing WC in his opinion

Nah. Costa is the Torres replacement. Better comparison for Lukaku would be Drogba. Not really a good decision IMO. They'll need to buy another striker in the next year or so.

Not sure what you're driving at.

My point was that Chelsea fans, whilst probably not overly pleased with Lukaku moving on, have had the blow softened by getting a player who is, for now at least the better player.

He's off isn't he :( Couldn't blame him mind. He was struggling for game time last season when we had CL. Without it he's barely going to get a sniff.
