Ed's saying all the right things. Purely PR or not, it's good that he lets us know what his vision for the club is as much as van Gaal does. It helps us relax - at least for a few minutes before the next inevitable tweet with rumours that we're not signing anyone else. Then everyone will go back to calling him and twat and demanding his head on a spike, and normality will once again be restored to the Caftard realm.

I'd love one of them nights where I am just sat bored with SSN on in the background and at like 10:30pm, the yellow ticker announced we have just bought Nani, Anderson and Hargreaves.
Although, I'd rather 3 more successful players

He said LVG's targets, not big signings. Trust LVG will got who he wants if they are available, if not I believe he will do without and we wont get a panic buy.

He said A list players want to come here.

Unles that was just a separate bit of information unrelated to the watch this space bit!

"Watch this space"? Surely, we'd have to be pretty close to a few signings for him to say that (as well as e rest). Hopefully he doesn't end up with egg on his face again.

Yep. I would say so. Sounded like we are trying to advance with a few and proceed with others once LvG knows who he wants to sell...

This tour is more like a fight to the end for many first teamers.. LvG decides who survives the purge over the next 2-3 weeks before Woodward gets the ball rolling on replacements..

But there's one thing we're overlooking, how many top players will be left in the market that are still buyable by the time LvG makes up his mind?

Vidal, Cavani, Reus and Hummels? I doubt Reus will move and i think the same goes with Hummels.. Cavani is not a player we need atm.

James Rodriguez, Cesc, Costa, Toni Kroos, Alexis Sanchez have already moved.. Khedira looks set either to sign a new contract or go to Le Arse while Juan Cuardado is currently in the middle of a tug of war between Bayern and Barca..

We need a backup RB, LB, a holding mid and a winger.. I expect to see Nani, Young, Fellaini and Anderson to be on their way out.. Hernandez might leave for more playing time.. Maybe even Zaha if he doesn't step up his game.

With Woodward mentioning social media and just the overall bullish tone of the interview, it makes you wonder if Vidal is already done but they are not announcing it until he's back off holiday.
I mean i do believe Woodward is saying exactly what the fans want to hear but you would hope after last season that he would be pretty confident before opening his mouth like this.

I'm going out on a whim here and going to predict he has already bagged somebody...I'm getting that impression from the confident quotes in this interview

60gb ... about 20gb was Ed's moobs in that polo, 10gb each.

I think Ed's been a bit stupid if we don't have deals wrapped up, from a transfer cost and player wages cost. He seams to be good with numbers so ...

Yeah, I was expecting a 4-5 minute interview so thought it'd be easy enough to just upload after

I would have expected the same too man..

Not your fault of course, its Ed's. The feckin motor-mouth & newest in-line member to be included in OT folklore

Thats a huge conversion goin on there. Whatya bringing it down to in the end - if thats ok to discuss etc?

He's talking up, I like. Hopefully it isn't just pre-season posturing, but with quotes that bold, we must be close on some targets.

What i don't get is Woodward saying he has spoken to lots of a-list players and they want to come, well where are they then?
I didn't get that bit.

After cropping and conversion it's now 51mb and currently uploading (and almost done) :)

Correct on the first part regarding the clearout I think, but I don't think it's a case of us simply waiting until then to start work on deals. The work will have began on targets (Woodward has said as much) even if it's just being asked to be kept informed on any developments with certain players to stop them moving before we can bid.

Who knows, the line from van Gaal might well have been just to buy him and Woodward some time (i.e. stop journalists asking the same question every interview) regarding transfers. We could already be well done the line with some.

How many seasons do Real, Barca and Bayern start without their targets? We are in the same bracket financially and as far as prestige goes, we should do whatever it takes to get LvG whoever he wants, whether that's a player that costs £5M or £50M.
Agree, but I would prefer we buy to strengthen each year, as long as we don't prevent giving the youth a chance.

Looking at Real, is Rodriquez going to be a improvement on Di Maria, not too sure. Is he good, definitely. Have Barca improved by getting rid of Sanchez and buying suarez, again not too sure. Look at the dross that the Scousers are buying, bigger squad, but not sure they are stronger than last year. I only see Arsenal as really improving, Chelsea somewhat. So spending doesn't always translate into improvements.

Dont think it was a press conference, he was having dinner with a few journalists or something like that.

The only transfer related story I remember from him last year was the him leaving the tour early on urgent transfer business.

I'm almost sure he had a presser on tour last summer & talked about the Rooney to Chelsea story & then proceeded to say "no budget for Moyes"..
