My only concern about Eddie's comments are that it means there may be a little something in the endless Cavani links we've had this summer. He does seem like a top transfer muppet.

After watching the interview I got the impression that a couple of deals are being worked on now - 'watch this space' intimates that something could be close and others are in the pipeline once LVG has had a look at the squad.

Sounds like we are after a couple of A list players, but as we know these deals can go either way.

Ed had a bad go at it last year, but he does need to deliver this time around.
In his defence though, apparently deals for Garay and Thiago were pretty much done, but it was Moyes that pulled out of them.

But bold statements, so lets see if he delivers. I am looking forward to it :D

Shame! How could you? Go sing Glory Glory Man utd a 100 times or prepare for the wrath of ed.

What?!

Sure i sing that song atleast 1000 times in my head, every day... Thats wee-buns mate (piss-easy).. :)

I dont have MUTV anymore more to the point, but i looked after about 20 of ya's for "rivers" for the LvG unveiling..

Feel bad now, as that interview was probably being "tributaried" & i could have hooked folk up. Just didnt know it was happening..

Sorry..

Damn you Woodward, you just injected already on the edge muppets with an overdose of adrenalin! If he doesnt deliver, there might literally be a riot!! Lol

This is a very good point

It would be vaguely suicidal to bang on about big signings and not deliver after last summer. No guarantee of course, but you've already seen the mood in here swing up in the matter of about an hour, and it'll crash back down on him if nothing happens again.

Exactly. He wouldn't give the Muppets a sniff of anything unless he was sure of feeding them what they want. He even said we are moving forward with deals.

Woodward talking a big game but he still has to prove it. These words are meaningless without the big signings.

He gave a press conference in Australia last summer i think, regarding Rooney being sold & that Moyes had no transfer budget - aka bottomless pit..

Cant find the interview but i watched it at the time..
Dont think it was a press conference, he was having dinner with a few journalists or something like that.

The only transfer related story I remember from him last year was the him leaving the tour early on urgent transfer business.

Understandable.
It was certainly an encouraging interview, he looked confident when he said he was us to sign the Worlds best, hopefully he's a man of his word.

From most of the pieces written in the wake of Moyes sacking it seemed Woodward was frustrated with how last summer made him look due to Moyes indecision, hopefully he's looking to rectify that image this summer.

He said LVG's targets, not big signings. Trust LVG will got who he wants if they are available, if not I believe he will do without and we wont get a panic buy.

How many seasons do Real, Barca and Bayern start without their targets? We are in the same bracket financially and as far as prestige goes, we should do whatever it takes to get LvG whoever he wants, whether that's a player that costs £5M or £50M.

I think if he doesnt get the job done this year and we do not finish in the top 4 he will get sacked. He understand how much his reputation will be on the line, it could probably be end of his career if he doesnt do what he has said.

And we all know that Moyes had to scout a player for 4 or 5 seasons before he considers putting a tentative bid in.

"Dithering Dave" was his nickname at the Toffee's. We should have known what to expect!

I can only imagine his wedding: "ahh, hold on.. i think i do.. Are you sure you're the same woman, because you look different today..? Give me a while to work this out.."

"Watch this space"? Surely, we'd have to be pretty close to a few signings for him to say that (as well as e rest). Hopefully he doesn't end up with egg on his face again.
