The people who are complaining about Chelsea and others signing players now are forgetting we've got a new manager coming in, who also happens to be tied up with Holland. To expect LvG to do what Mourinho is doing now is ridiculous.

I doubt it.

Thanks Obama.

Edit: Sorry, meant Woodward.

I agree. I am in no way worried or fussed about our lack of transfer business. We still have plenty of time after the World Cup is over.

Yeah, we'll see come the end of the window whether the clueless Woodward has gone off and signed a player for the sheer feckery of it, because he wants to be a billy big balls.

He can't even secure the easy deals for the players that the manager wants, and that any of you lot could tie up in 5 minutes flat, yet here he is, signing £60mil strikers on a whim.

Give yourself a day off for feck sake.

When did I ever say that I could tie a deal up in 5 minutes flat? Cavani is a different story, as he is reported to be unhappy playing out wide, and that he thinks this deal could be easier?

But think whatever you want, I mean great sources reporting it and you keep believing what you want anyway.

@MrBoywunder: Bayern Munich’s Xherdan Shaqiri and Benfica’s Lazar Markovic have been identified as suitable alternatives to Lallana. (Echo)

On Moreno:

@JamesPearceEcho: @LiamJackAndrews Nothing new. It's not dead though. Just dragging on.

On Lallana:

@JamesPearceEcho: @gharley1981 Yes mate. But it won't be until after England's involvement in the World Cup is over. Everything on hold until then.

@JamesPearceEcho: @gharley1981 Definite interest in Sanchez who would be a great signing but fee/wages could be an issue. Time will tell.

Unhappy playing out wide, but it should be an "easier" deal to convince him to come to a club with a better striker than the one forcing him out wide at his current club. Makes perfect sense.

Right, sure we'll just wait and see who is right at the end of the window. You'll be confident in it happening, what with these great sources and all who only ever report on facts. No conjecture or guesswork, or even lies. Just downright facts.

Should I get my Cavani shirt printed then or not?

Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen is ready to quit the Emirates Stadium for a move to Manchester United.

The Belgium international has told close pals that he wants to complete a controversial switch to Old Trafford after the World Cup.

United manager Louis van Gaal wants to sign the central-defender this summer in a deal that could be worth in the region of £12million.

Source: Daily Mail.

Markovic is brilliant. I think making the move up is a year away though, personally.

When did I ever say that I believe the deal will happen or not FFS? All I said that Woodwards wants a superstar signing and that he had his eyes on Cavani for a long time. I don't think it will happen at all as we already have Van Persie and I don't think that Van Gaal would say yes to the deal.

For me personally this deal makes no sense at all and would be a terrible waste of money, but if 3 good sources report the same thing (Woodward wants Cavani as Superstar), yeah I tend to believe them. Nothing about him coming, Van Gaal wanting him etc... Just the bit about Woodward and Cavani.

Doesn't take much to get you to believe.

I despair with modern football, and the modern fan. Have we learned nothing from every bullshit story posted in daily papers year after year that you don't believe everything you read? We've signed Sneijder, Gaitan and Garay 50 times each over the last few years. We're spoonfed shit, day and daily, by these bullshit artists, and every day we go back with a bigger bowl.

Yeah because I believe the Guardian,Times and Andy Mitten when they report the same shit, with probably different sources. I never believed any of this bullshit, like I still don't believe the bullshit with the Herrera fake agents thing. But they reported the same thing over a different time period, and financial it would make sense going for a superstar, with the new deal kit and sponsors probably being unhappy without EL football.

@SilentWitness Kevin Kampl is quality but only flourishes in a counter football team and still is too inconsistent IMO. I've watched him many times as I am from Austria and he simply didn't dominate in a way that a player linked with such top clubs should. He also has a confirmed release clause in the region of 12m€

I think Shaqiri must be a great signing for Liverpool. He's an intelligent footballer who's progress has somewhat stalled since joining Bayern. He would link-up pretty well with Coutinho, Sterling and Sturrige.

He's definitely already a better player than Lallana, I don't know why he's seen as a back-up/alternate to Lallana.

Thats another reason why England should lose today. Don't want Shaqiri at liverpool.

Lets see:
Lallana having a poor WC will prevent Saints' from holding out for a larger fee. (Pool are willing to offer £25m right?)
He has his international career to preserve on this showing. So may himself force for a move to a bigger club.
Now that Saints' have a new manager, he may approve this transfer and use the fund to bring in his own players.
How are the two related?

You think England coming back early will make Lallana available?

This thread wasn't supposed to be "fun".

Lallana has only played a few minutes and unless there is an injury, I can't see him playing much more.

This attitude should stand in other threads, where a particular match or a footballing issue or even a signing in being discussed only. But this thread was for rumours from twitter. Wonder why some sources are being selectively banned. I don't agree with some being banned and some being retained. It's all very subjective. There should have been no banning.
Anyway, but it's annoying to read someone say this thread wasn't supposed to be fun. Why not?

Not having this discussion again. If your idea of fun is to feed off rumors from "AGENT ITK" from twitter then you're free to create a thread in generals and post bollocks in it. Most of the journalists are on twitter these days and it's an handy way of knowing about things quickly.

The thread is really transfer chat spurned from tweets, which is fine as at least the tweets are vaguely credible now. They may not be as frequent as before but what did 40 people saying "lol, fat chance" every hour to the latest bit of cack indykaila came out with, do? I don't get why every other post not being a tweet is an issue.

I think ideally we need Lallana + one of Sanchez, Markovic or Shaqiri. I'd be disappointed if we only managed to get one of them.

I think this lad is quality, would love to see him in the PL.

Juve need a player like him. can play all across the midfield, especially in the no. 10 position. a very talented player. Its very likely he will move to a CM position at some point in his career like Schweinsteiger did, I think hes made for it.
Mane, the LW from Salzburg could also end up leaving. Hes another potentially world class player.
