Do folk on here, not rate Vlaar higher than this lad?

I thought Vlaar was excellent in most (if not all) of Hollands games at the WC!
Vlaar was definitely more impressive in the WC, but if it's a choice between him and De Vrij, then De Vrij wins because of age.

Seen a few people on here mention this advert on Mutv, i have watched Mutv on and off today and seen no such advert that mentions Moyes.

Anyone seen it and care to elaborate?

P.S. Why the feck does jamie jackson keep going on about fecking crumbs.

Yes been thinking this for a few weeks, Fabio i don't think will ever be as good as his brother but could have provided great cover for both full back positions next season, allowing us to concentrate on recruiting for other positions this summer. I doubt we even put a buy back clause in his contract.

Another stellar decision by Moyes, no doubt the first step in his master plan to turn United into a real mid-table force.
Well to be fair to him, he has been very average at Southampton since his move.

It's a strange one, seems like his trademark comment as he been saying it all the fecking time for some time now. I find it odd but that Jamie Jackson for you

Pretty funny IMO.

He was Okay at QPR the season before and poor at Cardiff last season. Was outperformed by Varela the few occasions he played U21 last season too.

Dunno, what it is with him but he seems to have regressed. He has potential to be good and mature in a couple of years but injuries keep hampering him as well.

We could have used him more (but not if performances he gave were as he gave at Cardiff). Don't get over the top moaning with regards to him though. People seem to be sentimental as he is a likeable character and Rafael's brother etc..

Well he went to cardiff but i get what you're saying, like us last season Cardiff wasn't really a team were many players had the chance to shine though. Joining a team in a relegation battle mid season and trying to regain your confidence & form can't be easy i would imagine. Hes still a good player though and would have been a good understudy at left/right back for us. Not to be though which is a shame.

Yeah its the second or third time ive seen him write it, odd to say the least plus im not sure what the feck it had to do with the rest of his tweet about the Mutv advert.

I think it just means something like 'crikey'. I've not seen the advert myself but that's all I think he means.

Cheers mate. Yeah funny alright surprised Mutv actually showed that. Seen some comments on jacksons twitter saying disgraceful etc. so was thinking it was bad but now i've seen it they were just being drama queens.

I just think he needs a proper run in a settled team and some luck with injuries to fulfill his potential. He won't ever be good enough to be first choice at a top team but would have been a handy squad player for us next season.

Hopefully Valera gets some games under LVG because of us selling Fabio though, was impressed with him last season in the reserves.

Yea, it's nothing serious, just a little dig. They just like to moan about everything.:)

Fletcher does not look well, he looks a lot older than 30.
He looks perfectly fine, he's always looked like that. People have been saying this stuff since they first heard he got sick, but he's had that fixed and the challenge for him was to be fully fit again. Appearance wise he's normal.

Agreed. Everyone talks about how thin he looks and post stuff like, "Oh Fletch. :(" he may have lost a bit of we it but he still looks as slender to me as he did all those years ago. Same with Vidic, actually. They both lost footballing abilities, but they didn't completely revitalise in appearance.

 Me too. You know it's off-season when a few photos of guys in red shirts running around cones does it for you.

Haha Same. Training Videos are even better.

Hate that our pre season is starting late and is smaller than the other teams fixture wise though.

Yeah. It gets a bit annoying really. At first he did look like he lost weight and fitness obviously, but that was when he was at his worst. He looks exactly as he did when he was first choice, albeit a few years older because he is a few years older.

I'm not talking about how skinny he looks, I am talking about his face which looks gaunt.

It's just the way they took the picture while his mouth is opened... Here's him in 09/10. Doesn't really look much different to now. If anything his face got a bit fatter compared to him 5-6 years ago.

There's more flesh to his face there, maybe it's the angle but his face looks really thin and his cheeks look drawn in.

He is probably a solid defender but his lack of pace would likely see him exposed in an attacking, high line, 4-2-1-3 therefore Louis would likely prefer quicker defenders as he would probably look to move to that formation when he has his perfect 11.

Or were you joking?

Nah man, i was just wondering what folk thought about Vlaar. I was really impressed with him - especially the Argie game..

Totally agree..

I see a pattern developing here.. De Vrij it is then..

I'll text Van & let him know :)

Vlaar had an impressive wc after a pretty lousy season at ... villa?
De Vrij had an impressive wc and was impressive in club football before that.
Dont see vlaar maintaining that kind of level for long at all

And yeah de vrij looks tidier on the ball.
