can't help but agree with this.
Reminds me of City's transfer window a couple of years back. The stable of Rodwell, Sinclair et al.

Yes and no! Liverpool lacked depth for a season with C.L-football - so they needed to get 5-6 players in. I think ideally Rodgers would love to get even better players in - but they lack the economic foundation to both spend £50 million net and increase their wagecosts by £200-300k a week.

So their first team look weaker - but they have needed to get quite a few players in that would strengthen their squad so I think Rodgers have done reasonably well all things considered.

Southampton's team from last season has been decimated. Shaw, Lallana, Lambert are all gone and now there's talk of Lovren and Schneiderlin leaving.

Outsiders to go down?

Not to mention their manager as well, they will struggle next season.

Honestly wouldn't mind Schneiderlin here, would be an improvement on all our midfielders as things stand while Herrera settles.
Nah, anybody would be an improvement on Cleverley...doesn't mean they are good enough for us.

Them and Swansea potentially could be in trouble I reckon.

If they sell Lovren and Schneiderlin I think they will be in the relegation battle.

Hopefully we will see some signings and departures for United soon. Season starts four weeks today.

Time to get a nice mug of tea to settle in and read today's twitter bollocks.

Lucas would be nice but Verratti is the one we should be in for, fantastic little CM.

Good, especially at some of the prices being touted.

He is dangerous at times but his mentality reminds me of Adebayor.

Hmmm, he was heavily rumoured to be going to Moncao as part of the deal for James.

Given how poor our CM options are and how few good ones are attainable I think £18M for him would be good business for us, he's only 24 and can develop further.

So do we think that we will get anyone else in while we are on tour, or do you think that LVG will assess the squad before going into the market?

I'd be delighted with Blind, he can cover all three of the positions we need reinforcements in and could develop into an excellent midfielder or reliable stand in left back.

On Vermaelen, I'm still hoping we don't go for him. He's not just past his best, he was never that good in the first place.

Captain Leader Legend haha

Isn't Vorm first choice at Swansea? Not sure being on the bench at Spurs is that good a move... unless its all about the money.
Not in the CL, not really going for any trophies. A bit pointless to trade a starting place for that.

I am confused what is to assess in terms of midfield options anyway. Fletcher can barely be relied upon, Carrick is out now and he's not taken Anderson or any younger mids on tour.

Surely we need one atleast ?
