Remy is a good player. Largely unimpressed with the rest of Liverpool's signings though. They should have put a large chunk of that Suarez money towards signing Cavani rather than the half a dozen middle of the road signings that they've made.

Surprised they haven't at all invested in their back four yet. The back four that pretty much cost them the title.

Since when have Porto began to loan these players in ? Odd, as they usually buy talented players and sell them for a profit.

And thought Casemiro was gonna be part of the Rodriguez deal the other way.

They have an option to buy him, they do with Tello too.

Don't think they've replaced Gerrard either.

Slip apart, he was a big key for them last season. Another year older, more congested schedule, will be interesting who's going to be Liverpool's leader when Gerrard isn't playing.

Carrick, Anderson out injured already. Wilson and Powell as well.

I don't think there were more injuries last year anyway than previous seasons under SAF overall, just to players at unlucky times and in unlucky combinations. The fitness coach was same as well and i think too much was made on no basis really of the the training methods theory. LVG trains his players hard too.

But it depends on the types of injuries, Carrick is a serious injury, Anderson always seems to be injured, don't know the circumstances of Wilson or Powell but as I said there will always be some injuries but training methods (more with the ball under LvG etc) must have an impact, anyway we'll see as the season goes on

Selling Borini for 14 million and getting Remy for 9 is good business. I'm still delighted that Suarez isn't there though, nobody they've bought will fill that void. All decent players but nothing standout so far.

I think it goes well beyond good business. Its in David Luiz territory to get £14 million for him

Liverpool taking the spurs approach and replacing quality with quantity. Won't be enough bite in that team the way it's going.
Sorry
Don't say that, the resident scouse will see it and reply sarcastically in order to show their disagreement with your point all the while reminding us our defence is shit and Suarez wasn't even important to them etc ;)

Ducker is saying there's a strong desire to offload Anderson so this ''injury'' that has ruled him out of the tour is probably either not that serious or non existant.

Sounds strange, why would you claim that a player you're trying to offload is injured?

I don't think they prefer these average players, I just don't think they're able to attract the top bracket of player. Especially no one on Suarez's level (Sanchez for example).

We aren't signing anyone on Suarez's level because that would require us to sign Ronaldo or Messi.

Cavani would be useless for us.

I don't think Juve's spending means anything regarding Vidal. They're a big club, they won the league and have Champions League next season.

€20 million for Morata probably isn't a huge amount to them.

The sales of Quagliarella & Vucinic + difference in wages after getting them off the bill covers the Morata fee.

Genuine question. Have Juve sold anyone yet?
Quagliarella (£3m), Peluso (£4m) and Vucinic (£5.5m).

I think they also sold their half of Ciro Immobile (£7m) to Torino, before they in turn sold him to Dortmund.

Quite happy the way Liverpool are wasting all this Suarez money on average players.

can't help but agree with this.
Reminds me of City's transfer window a couple of years back. The stable of Rodwell, Sinclair et al.

They need squad players this year to compete in the CL. Some smart signings for me - Lambert and Remy aren't top players by any stretch but two PL goalscorers for about £12 million is good business.

I suspect the Suarez money isn't spent yet either. I'm sure they have eyes on bigger signings. That's where their season will be decided for me.

They apparently had £60m of their own money and then sales on top of that, that would leave them about £84m left to spend with rumours of Lovren and Moreno left to join, that's two £20m deals so they have maybe £40m for a big signing, I think they should look for a big signing next summer and use the £43m on suring up the defence.

They seem to have cash and importantly, seem to recognise the need to spend.

Seem to do well on sales too with Borini and Assaidi likely to bring in £20 million.

They need a big player though, for the fans at least and to get the feel good factor back. That said, Rodgers seems to be able to motivate them regardless.

I am reminded of when we sold Cristiano and banked a bunch of the money, Dippers may do the same. Rodgers hasn't done a whole lot wrong yet, but hopefully he's storing it all up for when he needs to feck up the most.

He just has the slightly tricky mission on improving on a season where they massively outdid expectations, without one of the best players the premier league has seen.

not to mention that utd will be quite angry and quite prepared.

Yep. Let the Tottenham and Liverpool goon fans enjoy the season just gone, and see how things sit next year.

One Tottenham fan at work is continually making non qualifying for Europe quips, but he doesn't quite get that no players give a sh!T about the Europa. It's Champions league that might make a player think twice. Europa is neither here nor there, and will ruin teams like Spurs seasons.
