His problem is he falls or fails everytime he gets into a good position. This will be a very important year for him, either he saves us 30-40 million on a new striker(after RVP's legs go) or he will forever be the third striker who could be a lower level team's first striker.
You're right. It's a sad case. Great as a kid, gets big long contract, ditches Spain nt due to burn out in 2008 right before Spain's big era, does well with Pep but he ditches him, and then goes tumbling on loans (probably wages partly paid by Barcelona) because nobody wants to buy him due to high price/wages, and he just doesn't seem to fit anywhere. Small/weak 9 so he usually gets shifted to the wings where he is just one more player. Also, very nice guy but mentally weak. His father being his agent might have also worked against him in giving up money for better chances.
He should have done like Giovanni Dos Santos and accept a role at a smaller club for less money in a football league that suits him and build a career from there. Nobody doubts today Giovanni is a great little player and starter for Mexico while Bojan is some kind of football pariah. He still could become something good, very young and had some amazing goals.
Matuidi is class.
Because that isn't an exaggeration at all is it? Welbeck was excellent last season, particularly when Rooney and RvP were out injured. I have a feeling LvG will love Welbeck.

I was more surprised by Varela and Powell's omission from the tour squad, despite us being down to the bare bones in their respective positions. Not looking great for those two either.
For 1.5 to 2 million that's a pretty good signing for Derby.

But perhaps we could have just taken one of the young left backs, Blackett or James, and taken Varela to have a look at instead.
How come we don't take what Mitten says over all other transfer gossip (Vidal for instance) since hes so closely connected to the club? Do other journos usually go on tour with us?
