Having read the Jackson article, I still can't find where he claims Van Gaal has changed his mind?
It was in an article posted earlier written by Jackson. Something along the lines of "he informed the United executive of his decision". Dunno has it been updated or what.

I completely agree, I'm one of his biggest fans - I remember battling it out alongside you against the non believers a few times last season. But, I am open to the fact that he may leave, it's better this way. Less disappointment if it does happen.
I think he might also. His distribution and ability on the ball could set him back in a van Gaal team, but I just hope LVG sees past that, recognises him as the quality defender he is and looks to rectify those deficiencies in his game to some extent. He's certainly worth the trouble.

If there are still Smalling non-believers, I can only imagine they are only using the times he has played at rightback to rate him. His consistency and performances in the centre should have convinced everyone by now that he deserves to stay at this club.

Would be gutted if Smalling left he is a monster of a centre half!

No lets 'keep injure yourself Jones' and 'Evans the defender who doesnt defend'. Smalling can work on his ball distribution but defensively he is by far the best imo, hope LVG likes defenders who can defend.

LVG likes his CBs to be able to play with the ball and its a general consensus that that is Smallings biggest weakness. I can see why it has been suggested in the media tbh.

Not that I agree with getting rid. We should be adding to our CBs, not taking away from them. Unless we have 2 CBs coming in, which I doubt.

Hopefully he'll prove his worth to LvG in the next few weeks.

True that, but he also likes defenders who can actually defend at a high level, Veltman is a better ball playing defender than Indi but Indi is the better real defender, guess who he picked?

Are people not reading the youth tweet properly? It says about who trained with the seniors. Doesn't mean anybody wasn't there.

Just to clarify.

Good point, but it's important to remember that van Gaal loves his LCB's to be left footed, which Indi is.

Actually the tweet only mentions players spotted on the video of the 1st team training.. its a 2 minute clip so a very good chance that few of the players weren't recorded on the video

That's a strange signing for Newcastle. Not known for being the most "mobile" striker.

That is an impressive act of pure class. The money means nothing to him, he wants to just train and be part of a big club. A challenge if you will.

I can only imagine how Rawk will be twisting that story into a negative.

Also true, Veltman is after de Vrij the best ball playing defender Holland got, still Vlaar was also chosen over him. Arguably the best ball playing defender Holland got (van Dijk, doesnt look like a ball playing defender but he is) wasnt even in the squad.

When Veltman played, didn't he play as the right sided CB? Would prove your point.

Well that was my point... :p

But I've been told he got that list from watching a youtube video? I've not caught up yet.

 I thought I'd better post that, because people were saying "where was Varela?" and other things. Doesn't mean anybody wasn't there at all.

For all we know he could have been there (not in the video) or trained with the youth teams.

Indi seems to be a good compromise of the 2. At club level you can be more picky I think, as you're selection is limited to nationality.

It's funny that only Chilean newspapers and Tuttosport (Turin based newspaper) are sure that we are signing Vidal. They surely know something we don't.
