I thought he'd be a player for us when I followed the youth properly a few years back. Still time though, Cleverley managed to break into the first team squad at 22 no?

Would be great if he could get a chance. He's got the talent and it wasn't that long go he was on performing Pogba in the reserves.

It's funny that only Chilean newspapers and Tuttosport (Turin based newspaper) are sure that we are signing Vidal. They surely know something we don't.
Yep funny isn't it how those two are the closest to him as well. Yet us in blighty are supposed to know everything about this. All we know is what United brief, there's a bizarre game being played here.

Indi seems to be a good compromise of the 2. At club level you can be more picky I think, as you're selection is limited to nationality.
I follow the Dutch league, and over there Indi lost his place to Kongolo who is a much better ball playing defender, Indi is good at passing the ball back to the keeper, but his distribution is nowhere near Veltman's or de Vrij's.

Thing is he hasn't done anything major in first team football till now at all. The season before last he started well at peterborough under Junior Fergie and then got injured again.

Last season Even his loan at CHarlton didn't go that well. At Antwerp he started on fire it seemed but then had problems and faded too and that's the belgium 2nd division.

Most likely he will stay only till we can find him a good club and then leave.

With the physical damage his injury issues have done losing him 3 years of development at a crucial stage, it seem to have left a mental block too. He can still be a decent to good player if he can overcome that. He barely played for so long at such a crucial age, got to be really tough.

When Veltman played, didn't he play as the right sided CB? Would prove your point.

 I thought I'd better post that, because people were saying "where was Varela?" and other things. Doesn't mean anybody wasn't there at all.

For all we know he could have been there (not in the video) or trained with the youth teams.

Which is why I pointed out that it was interesting to see which fullbacks were listed. Having two rightbacks in that list suggests we might looking at using one of them as backup for Rafa this season. Alternatively, LVG might simply be looking at batches of young players each day. Who knows! :D

Can you imagine if the transfer is already done and we are going to let Van Gaal announce it at tomorrows press conference!. I know there is little chance of that happening but how cool would that be?.

Yeah It's more in hope for me than any real expectations.

Can't trust chilean media.

My local Danish club was a few years back linked heavily with Ruidiaz, and there was practically a new story every hour saying it was a done deal in Chile quoting board members, family members etc., only for the player to move to a different and it was later revealed the club had never even discussed a contract with the player

The boss!

Not one for comparing actions of managers/players but how is LVG donating money making back page news? Mourinho donated to the World Food Programme only last month whilst in the Ivory Coast, but didn't get (or need) back page news though. It is really news though? Just a thought.

I have been a fan from first time i saw him play and he was considered a real star whO Roma were so upset about losing. Really hope he atleast makes a top flight player somewhere.

Well....there were rumblings a few days back.

Seems like the 2 closest sources to player and agent. Maybe it is Vidal sending out a come get me plea.

Because we 'own' the media obviously.

If we're going for Strootman I'm all for getting him in now, letting our guys sort him out, and in that time he is getting used to things, and his team mates, could be back by November, and we could get a few quid off if we take him now.

Mourinho is one of the best paid managers in the world who's agent is Jorge Mendes. LVG promised not to use an agent if United paid the money to a charity and he would match it. Its somewhat an out of his way gesture that is almost unheard of in today's world of "I don't want 7m I want 10" game of contracts in football.

No way are we buying a player who's torn his ACL and hasn't recovered yet. Especially not after Hargreaves.

Supposed to be back in training next month and playing by November.

What i mean is that the transfer window will be closed before Strrotman is back to full fitness right?, you would surely need to wait until a player is back to full fitness before analyzing to see if they have recovered from the injury.

Sure VG will know more about this injury than any other, no way we'd risk it if there was a risk there, so if he comes in before September then all will be well.

Guess one story shifts papers and the other doesn't.

That's a strange signing for Newcastle. Not known for being the most "mobile" striker.

What do you mean by mobile ? Because his only qualities are his mobility and his strength

Still doesn't make it back page newsworthy though in my opinion. Understand the kind gesture, no issue with that but can't understand it being printed.
