Can't be f'ed to go back through the previous pages, anything been happening today? Any utter bullshit I should know about?

Please feel free to feed me some shite.

Back in May, Memphis Depay's agent Kees Ploegsma told VI Manchester United had been following his client's progress at PSV.

Do you honestly think Woodward is planning on buying players he likes irrespective of the manager ? We've gone full on FM in here if true.

Daniel Taylor said a bit ago Woodward wants a superstar signing and Cavani is who he has his sights set on. It wouldn't be that much of a surprise if this was the case.

We should've gotten Bale. A superstar striker makes no sense at all. Splash that money on Reus or Pogba and be done with it. fecking Woodward.

He won't buy a player who Van Gaal doesn't specifically want though. LvG would resign in a heartbeat if that happened, which is why all of this is BS.

And I bet LvG doesn't rate Cavani as a superstar.

Cavani wants to leave PSG because he's played out wide, he'll be played out wide if he comes here...

Wouldn't really dismiss it as bullshit considering we've been linked to him for a while and it's from Mitten now who's as reliable as you'll get for United. If Woodward does want this "superstar" signing then Cavani would fit his bill as he's keen on a move away from PSG and there's not really many players of his calibre available, LvG wouldn't play him if he didn't want him, as happened with signings bought for him at Barca(or Bayern? can't remember) but he's obviously not going to resign because of it.

Wouldn't surprise me if Woodward thought a superstar signing like Cavani would appease the fans, and allow him to cut back on other signings. One can only hope is not so clueless.

Nah, i think its complete nonsense. Even if there were some interest in Cavani, it would only happen because Van Gaal wants him and has asked Woodward to buy him, not because Woodward, who has zero football knowledge, wants to buy him for marketing purposes.

Correct me if I am wrong, haven't read much on it, but isn't it some guy saying Mitten is talking about Cavani to United? I mean has Mitten himself written or said on twitter, on UWS or elsewhere?

The only way the Cavani transfer makes sense is if we decide to play a 4-3-3 but like others said, he's not happy about playing out wide. I would take Sanchez over him and he would be cheaper.

So would you guys be bashing LVG too if it happened to be his decision to get Cavani?

Edit: Don't think there is any truth to this yet, and yes I would be surprised if we did get him splurging so much cash.

I'd be very confused.

If we bought him, i'd imagine £300k/week Rooney would be sold.

I think this is Woodward doing. Makes no sense, when you see RvP and LvG connection and how LvG treats Huntelaar.

According to Le10 Sport(France), Madrid are in contact with his agent in case they fail to pry Suarez from Anfield. I know Mitten is generally reliable but I doubt it this time.

Something will have to give, can't imagine we will add one more world class striker personally without first improving more important areas but even if we did, don't see why people would get so worked up about it.

Cavani can play on the right in the front 3, cant he?

If we are going with 1 striker (which will be van Persie when fit), getting him and letting Rooney go might make sense on paper.

I really haven't seen the french league. He hasn't been terribly impressive from that few CL games I did see.

Can't see Van Gaal wanting Cavani at all. He's very overrated in the first place and we have 3 strikers who I'd rather see up top for us before Cavani came.

I don't know, he seems bent on making a power play since sacking Moyes. This article from Mark Ogden, who seems to have an inside connection to Woodward started my concern.

Ed Woodward takes power from Sir Alex Ferguson with appointment of Louis van Gaal at Manchester United

Woodward was never afforded the opportunity to bed into the job with Moyes’s innate caution and indecision leading to last summer’s shambolic transfer window, which resulted in the 11th-hour panic purchase of Marouane Fellaini.

Moyes and Woodward rarely appeared a good fit, despite Woodward’s consistent support of the Scot.

In terms of personality, Woodward is the guy who would walk into a Las Vegas casino and plunge £1 million on red, while Moyes would shake his head and reluctantly put a fiver on black.

Woodward’s frustration with Moyes was tactfully hidden, but always just beneath the surface, and the relationship was never going to work, yet the Glazers were also only ever going to get rid of one of them and Moyes had no chance.

You can clearly see the theme there that Woody has his media buddy absolve him of all blame.

Are you serious?
Nothing recent on Cavani anywhere, this would be worse than Fellaini if the 0.0001% chance it happened to be true

There's just too much smoke to not be a fire on the Cavani front. The rumors started even before Van Gaal's hiring was confirmed.

As long as Rooney is sold no. Contrary to people who have watched Cavani three times and have decided that he is shit, I have watche dhim for years on both Palermo and Napoli and think that he is brilliant. He is a better striker than Rooney and would be an upgrade.

However, signing him and keeping Rooney (and obviously RVP) doesn't make any sense at all.

Won't be bashing LvG but there is no point in bringing in Cavani and selling Rooney. It will be awful. Rooney offers lot more and is a better player.
