Gustavo would be a good signing and more importantly - would fit Van Gaal's system.

Luis Gustavo would be a good signing. He would be the defensive midfielder we need to replace Carrick and he wouldn't cost too much. I also think it is important that we start to sell some of the players that are not needed and Buttner is a good start.

He's only 26..? Thought he was 30 for some reason. He'd be a great signing.

I don't get why we'd want Gustavo all of a sudden. I mean William Carvalho looks a better prospect and since Van Gaal took over, our interest has been dropped.

He has played under LVG, so he knows him well. Plus, Gustavo would cost much less than Carvalho and he's proven. I called it a month or so ago, but Gustavo would be perfect for us.

The problem with Gustavo is he'd cost a tonne. Wolfsburg are minted, only just bought him for a decent fee last summer, and pay their players well. We should have got him last summer.

Yeah, the time to get Gustavo was last summer before he moved to Wolfsburg. Excellent player.

Isn't he rumoured to have a low buy-out clause? Something around £26m?

3 red cards last season. Isn't he quite bad for that? I think that would piss me off a bit about him but he's a great player.

That's nothing. Imagine how many Fellaini could have gotten if he'd managed to be within 10 yards of play at any stage this season.

To be fair to Fellaini he only has one straight red in the PL.

How odd, that rumour just refuses to die. I wonder where Mitten said that, I can't seem to find anything.

It makes no sense.

Cavani is unhappy at PSG because he is played out wide, he wants to be the #9. It is obvious with LVG coming to United that RVP will be the #9... United wouldn't be his best option and he wouldn't be ours.

Ed Woodward wants to sell shirts. This is the superstar signing he's had a boner for...

Woodward is developing a habit of spending big money on novelty signings if this comes to fruition.

If Woodward blows half our transfer budget on Cavani he has to go. Instantly.

If Mitten actually has said that then 1) it's most probably true and 2) what the feck?!

If Woodward is so hard up for a superstar signing as been suggested, don't you think he would've went all out for Fabregas this summer? He signs a superstar, particularly one most fans would want and he gets to redeem himself for last summer.

I don't think Woodward is pushing for Cavani, much less knows who Cavani is.

BREAKING: Portugal's doctor - "If Cristiano Ronaldo plays in this World Cup, the injury could end his career."

Wouldn't normally post a tweet from such an account, but curious if this has been mentioned anywhere else?
