Do United not have any real ITKs on Twitter who actually know what they're talking about?

It's weird. Arsenal have about three legitimate ones who everyone follows. Liverpool have a couple of journalists who are constantly leaked to, officially and unofficially.

United have Ducker/Ogden who just get whatever PR spin United choose to reveal. Is there no-one who's actually close to the action who leaks to an independent person?

Re the Ducker quote: didn't Ogen say days before he came that he'd be "very surprised" if Herrera turned up?

I believe Van Gaal is planning on playing 4-3-3 primarily next season although it wouldn't surprise me if you saw 5-3-2 enlisted on occasion. United want to keep Evra but his wife, Sandra, is desperate to leave Manchester - she has been for a good while - and the club don't want to stand in his way in that regard given what a good servant he has been. It's a real blow if you ask me - he's a big character with a lot of experience and would have helped Luke Shaw settle in. Part of the reason his decline was accelerated in recent years was because he was being asked to play a ridiculous number of games for a guy in his thirties who is all about bombing forward. In terms of signings, I believe they want to sign another left back, a centre-half and at least one more midfielder plus maybe a winger-forward type. I'm told Di Maria is on the radar but that there's been no contact with the player or Real Madrid, which would suggest there's one or two others that the club are pursuing first. From what I was told last night, I think the Vidal rumours have taken on a life of their own. I don't believe United are actively pursuing him at this stage and although I'm not saying things won't change, it looks like Juventus are really trying to create a market for him, in much the same way as Benfica did with Nicolas Gaitan a couple of years back.

Ducker on Vidal and other.

Is it such a bad thing if nobody is briefing journos about united?

Ducker either doesn't have a clue because it's been said leaks have stopped or he's killed us muppets.

Nope Ducker and Ogden haven't known a thing since van Gaal was appointed.

The deals aren't "like for like". I believe Real Madrid are entitled to all profits from shirt sales, with only their base payment being £31m. I imagine United's deal either does not have any profit share agreement (ie Adidas are entitled to all profits) or they have included this figure in the £70m.

I remember reading that a while back but wasnt that with Nike. Was hoping we had changed it for adidas by getting a small portion of the profits.

Wouldn't read anything into what Ducker said, his entire answer implies that he's hasn't been told either way and he's just drawing his own conclusions.

Yeh, seems to me they were endlessly briefed by the club last year, and now it's all been shut down. Maybe it's because of the disappointment of the last window and they don't want to heighten expectations this year.

Adidas Chief: "We expect total sales to reach £1.5billion during the duration of our partnership." Mental

Good business for the Glazers..

We'll see if they invest big in the squad with that kind of revenue coming on - not to mention the projected record revenue of £420m+ for this financial year end..

Yep we are very quick to deny things this summer as well. It seems the only thing we've leaked this summer are denials actually.

Apparently those Ducker quotes are from June, somebody just said on Twitter. No idea if true.

I hope and think Ducker knows feck all. Doestn seem like we are briefing the press these days. All the interesting news came from Italian or Chilean reports.

It's clear that Ducker and Ogden haven't been leaked much news from the club. Ducker in particular is covering all bases at all times.

Very reliable, but this doesn't worry me too much.

I'd say the Glazers clipped Ed's wings after last summer & told him to shut the f*ck up. He was an embarrassment they way he was actin like the new Sheriff in town.. Cringey as hell..

Those quotes pretty much show he's just talking out of his ass there, just stating his opinion pretty much. Doesn't say "I've been told" or anything of e like, just "I believe" but then making sure to say we'll still spend big and sign a few players so something might happen. Basically covering all the options.

There's definitely something in the transfer, whether it's close or we can actually get it done is another matter, but I think we're definitely interested.
