Completely forgot about those, what a summer that was.

Tevez one was a painfully long-running saga. The way he left was a real shame though, could have been a great player with us for years.
Yeah, he was City's main man for years after.

Which is why I'm not convinced that even targets we've sought to deny interest in are necessarily off the table.
Kroos himself said Man Utd was never an option for him, Cesc is gone so we'll have to believe those reports were pretty accurate.

I think there's truth in the reports about ending interest in Kroos given the recent Schweinsteiger rumours. Press also said that Fabregas wasn't on his list either. I think what the press don't know for sure is who is on the new list, rather than who isn't.

I think we have a rough idea about some of the targets, Stoortman is certain for January unless we sign couple of better cms than him. The way van Gaal spoke about Vidal was pretty telling too.

Well, he said it was never an issue. Hes hardly implying he has or would reject United.

The way I interpreted this was, there had never been an offer from us, therefore not an option. We most probably haven't moved for him. We are good at that.

Negredo linked to Atletico in the bbc gossip colum. That transfer would make so much sense IMV. He'd really be great for them.

What happens if we haven't signed anyone when Van Gaal arrives? Can't see Van Gaal being happy about that he'd probably have a pop at Woodward.

Hopefully the bit about Kagawa and Mata is true at least.

Can't think why it wouldn't be.

Chelsea going after Felipe Luis is good news in a way for us. Increaes our bargaining power over Shaw and Soton can't hold us to ransom. 27m is already a big sum and it is crazy on their part to try pushing it further. They are never going to hold on to him forever and might not get better money for him.

Chelsea are paying €25m for Luis who is 28, nearly 29. if Shaw does stay at Southampton for two or three more years and establishes himself as being world class, then I could easily see him hitting a £30m+ fee.

It makes no difference at all. Southampton can just state that they don't want to sell. He's got years left on his contract after all. They'll still be in a very good position next year and they'll have had another year out of him without having to source a replacement.

True in theory but if Soton lose Lallana and Lovren too, they might have a below average season and it can impact price of other players southwards in next window. An injury here and there to Shaw or impact of overall poorer squad than current affecting his performance and Soton might be forced to sell him for lesser.

Nah, it'll get to a point where clubs just tell Southampton to piss off. They're only going to fall down the table, his form will probably drop, his value decreases, then they're in a position whereby he desperately wants the move yet no club will play silly money. The only club offering silly money right now is United, because it's perceived we're desperate.

If they don't take the money now then I think they'll regret it. Either way, Shaw can and will put this to bed with a transfer request if needed. I expect Lallana to do the same with your lot provided you also offer "silly" money.

Aye, you never know what could happen with injury and the like. For what it's worth, I think he's much more likely to leave than stay.

In that case we go for Blind. If we are buying Vermalaen too, we have 3 potential LBs in team then. Soton on the other hand will have a player on hand who wanted to leave and then they have to hope someone needs LB more desperately next summer and offer them more than 27m. It is a business call. If they seriously see someone else offering 30m for Shaw, then there is case. Otherwise it might see them losing out on good money.

I think it means that Shaw has already been sold (I hope to us). It's no coincidence that Southampton get a new manager and Chelsea move to a new target. Chelsea seem to be the kind of club who would move on targets quickly. Various reliable sources like Ducker, Ogden saying that the deal to us is as good as done means that Southampton are not not-selling.
It is indeed good news for us.

Chelsea have been linked with Luis for ages. I don't think it means that he's been sold already.

We wanted fabregas and kroos, chelsea signs them.

We want blind, liverpool makes first move for him.

feck you woodward. bhen ka loda saala. Frustrating.
Moyes wanted Kroos and Fabregas, LVG didn't.

Not only the league, they would have a good shot at CL. It's going to be interesting how they'll fit all those players in, maybe Oscar will go?
Oscar on the right maybe? They'd probably sell Schurrle though.

They could do with one yeah. Better than having to sign 2 CM, 1 LB, 1 winger and probably a CB and failing to even sign one so far though.
Don't remind me :( I'd rather just skip to the first match of the season of the season and see who we have.

Chelsea could line up as
-------Courtois---------
--azp---cahill---terry---luis
--ramires--fabregas--kroos--
--Hazard---Costa---oscar

fecking good team that is. It will also play mourinho's favoured 4-3-3. With kroos as deep lying, ramires box to box and fabregas attacking midfielder. It could also be a 4-2-3-1.
