So Mourinho has already wrapped up Cesc, Costa and Luis while we haven't even signed anyone yet. Not even Shaw.

Champions League club, based in London, with one of the best coaches in Europe and a billionaire owner. Not hard to see why.

They've lost a few players(Although losing david luiz for 50M is more winning than then losing)and while I think Cesc is a great signing(how long until Mou gets bored of him is anyone's guess) and Courtois is going to be a great keeper,Costa still is still a gamble which could easily back fire.

For me Chelsea's biggest problem is Mourinho, he just doesn't look the same since going back to Chelsea and in parts last season he was a parody of himself.

This should be talked about in a different thread but I have no idea why he went back to Chelsea again next season will be a big one for Mourinho

Mourinho hasn't done anything, Abramovich buys the players he wants and throws the manager a bone every now and then.

That dynamic seems to have changed quite a bit since Mourinho's return. Roman would not have sanctioned the departures of Mata & Luiz in succession.

That is going around twitter. Not transfer related but didn't want to make a thread about a picture. In case you're wondering, those are the first fixtures of the premier league.

Apologies if this is already posted, I just found out that it's a done deal.

Costa:

'Why would I have chosen to play for Chelsea? It is a thing that is about to happen,' Costa told Goal.com. 'Things are going in a direction and, if they keep going as they are going, it is the team I will play for in the next season.

I hope it's not true, I don't like it when big teams play each other that early.

I'm hoping that we catch a break and play the big teams later on in the season, you know so we can actually practice van Gaal tactics on lower teams before we take on the big clubs.

Not sure whether that is an awful first game to have or a decent one. Gets it out of the way for one, plus hopefully they won't know how to fit in everyone best.

I was hoping for a Home game. Off the top of my head, we haven't started the season at home for five years.

Chelsea aren't leaving it for chance huh. It's time we start signing a few players, I want us to complete all our our business before preseason so that we can start learning the system before we start playing in the league. I wish we were as good as Chelsea at closing deals. :( I still think someone like Beckham or Cantona could do a better job than Woodward at convincing players to sign for us.

Couldn't give a rats ass as to who we are playing first. More concerned about us getting all the deals done before the start of pre-season so players can gel.

If Luis to Chelsea goes through soon, it would benefit us as it would lessen Southampton's bargaining power over Shaw.

Poor Simone, having his squad torn apart. Chelsea taking back Courtious, nabbing Costa and Luis. Barca chasing Koke, Miranda and Turan maybe snapped up as well.

Yeah and if we would do the same deal everyone would be bitching about the fee for a soon to be 29 year old LB (I think I've heard that before ...).

The most important signing was Van Gaal and now enjoy the WC. Woodward is fighting for his job too.

Don't think Chelsea were properly in for him. How ever Southampton don't need to sell, and if they could do they can probably get money off Liverpool for Lallana and Lovren.

Nah, they realized ages ago that Shaw is overpriced, they were never in the race for his signature.
