There's alot of average players at the club & many have moved on, or retired too:

Vida - gone to Inter
Rio - gone, & to QPR most likely
Evra - could be off to Juve
Giggsy - retired
Young - useless & needs to leave the club
Nani - useless & needs to leave the club
Cleverely - not good enough & should be sold
Fellaini - long-ball target man & not United quality
Hernandez - not good enough
Smalling - not United quality

Thats alot of players that are either: gone, going or so shite that they should be gone..

I can understand Smalling but I don't see him as being any worse than Jones, dare I say it, I think he's better than Jones at CB.

A little harsh on Smalling that, hes a better CB than Jones

I think people see him as not good enough for United because he always ends up at RB, where he does a job, but isn't good enough for United. When he plays in his proper position, at CB, he is probably the best CB we have. If he starts playing there consistently, under under LvG, we will get the very best out of him.

He's a fantastic CB!

Agreed with all except the LB. If you're targetting a reserve full back I'd say that a RB is much more important for youse.

Nah, we have Varela who can be promoted to RB. We would be left with Evans as the only player capable of filling in at LB if Shaw was injured. So backup LB is needed. I don't think James or Blackett look ready atm.

The underrating of Smalling and Jones particularly has gone way over the top.

Along with few other players too.

Maybe so, but neither are / ever will be, Vida & Rio replacements & that should be a priority aswell as CM..

You don't know that for instance Jones is 22 and in the CBs world he is a baby, and Smalling has been good in Champions League under Ferguson.

That doesnt mean that they will make it here, but we can't write them off that easily.

Smalling is a player that should stay at United. When has he played regularly at CB and looked shit?

Don't see it, he's not as good as the players in similar positions and hasn't shown anything to warrant sticking with him.

Don't think Smalling should be on your list. And I'd Cleverley another chance.

Agreed. That's what most sensible United fans would think as well tbh. Shame about Hernandez, I actually think he's too good to be 3rd/4th choice. It's not the case he isn't good enough, just that he won't ever displace RvP or Rooney.

Anyone been on Rawr to see Liverpool's reaction to Sanchez snubbing them? bet he's ''shit anyway'' all of a sudden. Its funny, they've one good season and think they can complete with a club like Arsenal

Does Varela look capable? He hasn't played much, has he?

Jones, Smalling, Valencia all can do a job for a game or 2 there if Rafael is injured. Not more though like last season.

Then we have Varela, Vermijl, Keane there who all are decent to good young RB's or in Keane's case do a good job there.

At LB we have a 18 year old Shaw and then Evans ? Reece James and Tyler Blackett are meh youth players as backups too.

He looked great last season for the U21 and I fully expect him to be promoted this season. It's common sense really, one less transfer for us to worry about. If he fails to live up to expectations, we can look for a replacement next Summer when hopefully we're back in the CL.

Forgot about Smalling - he's on the list.

Kagawa might come good though..
I find Kagawa an absolute conundrum. You could easily make a case for him to be given until January for Van Gaal to make a decision on him once and for all, but you could also make a case to say that he just hasn't been good enough over two seasons mitigating circumstances or not. Mata has been at united for 6 months, and in my eyes, been better than Kagawa.

Think that list is very harsh. Smalling is an excellent centre half when allowed to actually play in that position, Nani is good enough but has spent far too long injured and I do agree it is time for him to move on, Cleverley is good enough to be a squad player here - people have been bleating on about signing Jordy Clasie who isn't even as good as Clev, Hernandez isn't good enough? He's had one poor season, when coincidentally, everyone else had a poor season as well!

Mata was always on a different class to Kagawa for me.

And his signing immediately along with already having Rooney and Janzuaj made Kagawa dispensable.

Absolutely. We have 3 quality young centre-halves at the club who have had to play irregularly, often out of position behind a porous and disorganised centre midfield for a while now. All three should stay, of course they should. Let LVG have a look. How many of you would have had Ron Vlaar down as a top centre half before this world cup? Let them have a go in a settled set up, see how they get on.

PSG to hijack ''our'' Di Maria bid, PSG haven't a hope in hell of qualifying for the next round of FFP so why the hell would anyone want to sign to them? The whole thing of world class players (Zlatan, Toure, Silva x2, Aguero..etc) going to clubs for big wages I never understood, they're already rich or would have made enough money playing at another top club else where.

Aguero for example would most likely be at Madrid for the same money he's on at City. Toure is on a reported 200k a week, if he was on 140k a United (for example) whats the difference? He won't ever be able to spend it all once he retires either way.

I agree. I'd move Kagawa on. He's a good player, but there's no issue in admitting it hasn't worked out for one reason or another. Mata is the best number 10 at United, Rooney might also see some playing time there too.

Yup. All of it is bollocks, I have decided to not actually pay any attention to what anyone writes about United as nobody has a damn clue what we're doing imo. They're all guessing/making shit up.
Frustrating

Or you could make a case for keeping him on the long term, he costs the club 15m wich is low, he is a good player (not as good as Mata or efficient as Rooney) and we need depth.

Sky BET: Manchester United look like they are closing in on signing WC star Angel Di Maria. He is now to join the Old Trafford club.

Sky Bet!

Like i say, he's a conundrum. You could make equally valid arguments either way on Kagawa. He and Rooney are extremely marketable though.

James had as equally a good season as Varela last year.

Stoke Sentinel Exclusive: Stoke City want Barcelona striker Bojan and are hoping to tie up a loan in the next few days.

What a dream move that'll be for the guy. Stoke > Barcelona surely.
