I never expected big names to arrive this summer, but surely we can do better than Vermaelen his an average defender who also has injury problems is that really worth 100k a week? I don't see the point in adding another average player to our squad when we should be clearing them out.
So start naming players. I told you to name players, who we can realistically get.
At the moment there is not enough world class CBs out there. And the world class ones won't move to us. We could sign a young unproven player who could be world class, but that would be a risk.
I also feel it is the sort of player Van Gaal could get the best out of and fits his system.
