Whoever sends the Daily Mails tweets is a complete idiot. The article says Van Gaal has instructed United to sell Fellaini as per the tweet above, not the other way around.By the semi-reliable Ian Ladyman too.

I you could be onto something there.

The total lack of proper competition for Rafael wouldn't be healthy especially with his injury record, sure as hell I don't want to see Smalling there again, Varela could step up but that's be a risk.

Yep, the Cuadrado news from earlier suggested he could be brought in to give competition for right back and to play as a winger.

He'd provide competition and able backup for both places (unluck Valencia who is the opposite end of bad to Jones and Smalling in my view), could be a good move if there is any truth to it, not too expensive either.

Will be gutted we wont get sanchez. He is a top, top player.
I am pretty shocked we are not in for him, I know he hasn't left Barca yet but all the fingers point to Arsenal, he'd be excellent on the right for us.

Cuadrado would be a superb buy. Can play either wing as well as being back up for Rafael as well as potentially being a monstrous wingback if a three man defence is used. Has even played as a striker for Fiorentina.

Really need to move some wingers on before we are getting a true out and out winger, so a versatile player makes sense, though as you mentioned Valencia he was obviously kept on for a reason, just hope it's not for backup to Rafael!

Just caught up with almost 15 pages of muppetry!!

Cheers to Adnan and Redbistro for posting all the tweets..

Striker too? He's like Jones but a more attacking version isn't he?

Seriously, I do think Van Gaal likes players who can do a bit more than just one job. Blind, Martins Indi and Kuyt are all examples of that. Think that means good things for Jones and possibly even Rooney. Might also be why Valencia had has contract renewed pretty sharpish because he can Play wing, RB and through the middle if needed.

Yup agree! See reply above too.

I think when Rafael is injured we have a problem, Valencia isn't great at the defensive work, and Jones/Smalling are not too good attacking.

I think Cuadrado makes sense.

No problem! MkPaul also does a very good job picking things up.

From my Leaving Cert French I think that's saying that "Several sources say Arsenal have an agreement with Sanchez. He still has to convince Barca. They've put in their first bid.

Arsenal looking very likely. Annoying but better than Liverpool. Shame we didn't have a go.

Don't want us to sell Fellaini unless/until we sign another midfielder. He's a better option than most of our other central midfielders.
