Too easy an excuse that, there is no certainty's Arsenal/Liverpool will be in the UCL next season either and it's not like either of them will win it anyway. If we want him then just throw what ever wages in front of him (within reason of course) and see if the extra 8 games for one season really is enough to turn down the biggest club in England.

This is true. I may well be speaking out my arse but I genuinely still feel we're the more attractive option than Liverpool or Arsenal.

So 25M pounds. We can surely offer more than that and better wages even if we have higher priorities.Unless of course we are not interested, which makes no sense to me what so ever given the state of our current wingers.

Edit:Well feck him so.Stupid decision if true. What's more important 1 season in the CL or the chance of actually winning the thing aswell as other trophies. The guy is 25, plenty of years left to play in the CL.

Maybe sanchez just doesn't want to come here.

Properly the red in me talking in me but anyone who fancies Arsenal over Manchester United for footballing reasons isn't all their upstairs. Yeah it's definitely me talking with my red hat on but we've missed out on a lot of the top talent last few years, surely there is a reason?

This is obviously why Suarez news is circulating a lot currently.

Press Assocation seems to have been briefed.

If Alexis Sanchez is that short-sighted then I fear for his intelligence.

He could easily sign for United with a clause saying he can leave if we do not qualify for next seasons CL. Instead he will play in the CL for Arsenal, get knocked out early and then 1 year from now will be at a club with piss all chance of winning it rather than a club which should be among the favorites to win it.

I will be seriously pee'd off if we let a world class talent like Alexis just go to Arsenal without even attempting to bring him here. I say offer the guy what ever he wants, see how much having one season out of the UCL will really throw him.

We can't buy everyone, CB, and another two midfielders are surely more important

Combination of SAF not having the required money to spend, and the forever used excuse of the Manchester weather.

@Adnan I've just been bigging you up, leave it with Suarez bullshit, yeah?, good lad.
Is that a rule or just your preference? I'm pretty interested in the Suarez news to be honest. It's such a big transfer that the chain affect it will cause could easily be relevant to us.

I know we can't but I'd suggest we need a CB and one CM so signing a winger of Alexis class is doable and considering how bad ours currently he has I'd have thought it was high on LVG list.

Also that Manchester weather excuse makes me laugh.. it's not as if London has tropical weather 365 days a year.

Or we aren't actually in for him.

I really don't see us being in and it being a simple reply of instantly turning us down because we aren't in the Champion's League for one season. Bit of a shame as he's a quality player but think he'll likely end up elsewhere and don't think it'll be because he turns us down, instead rather because we haven't really pursued it enough if at all.

I can see this Suarez transfer getting messy. They know the player wants the move, and they are not exactly in desperate need of him, so I can see them dragging it out for a while to get the price down. It's what they do.
