I just think they ARE panic buys because if we wanted these two we could have got them a long time ago. We are getting them because its too late to make a move for anyone else. We didn't do a proper of identifying our midfield targets and now we are settling for De Jong and Blind.Would you prefer Cleverley and Fletcher instead?
It will be either Blind or De Jong surely ? Signing both seems strange.
They play their roles differently but both their best positions is as the #6.
Well I'd rather have de Jong/Blind as an option from the bench over Fletcher/Cleverley.

di Maria can perform as no. 8 should we need him to.Even if we sign those 2 Herrera gets injured then Cleverley will have to be back up or Fellaini.
We need a number #8 for 2nd midfielder then probably instead of another #6 if we get Blind/De Jong.
It's a common Aussie word.Is this some sort of aussie slang?
Stop posting nonsense you flamin' galah!

Nearly anyone from Serie A is attainable, in my opinion.I think people need it to get it out of their heads that we can get Strootman in January.
Not in January, next summer though? Absolutely. Will be expensive but thats the price we always pay for not getting in players early.Nearly anyone from Serie A is attainable, in my opinion.
Two players who won't allow themselves to be embarrassed by Sunderland in midfield.Damn it, its going to be Blind and De Jong for the other two signings.
Put £50m on the table and any Serie A player will be attainable in January and that's seemingly looking like what we'll have to pay for van Gaal's golden boy.Not in January, next summer though? Absolutely. Will be expensive but thats the price we always pay for not getting in players early.
Yes because we will so willing to pay £50m for a crocked player just coming back and having not played even for two months. We didn't want to pay £40m for Vidal who had a less serious injury and who has since then come back and played in a few games.Put £50m on the table and any Serie A player will be attainable in January and that's seemingly looking like what we'll have to pay for van Gaal's golden boy.
EDIT: That's if we even try signing him in January, next Summer he'd cost £35m max.
They want another striker. Costa, Torres and Drogba are already there. Im guessing they are getting rid of Torres. Also don't they have a problem with too many foreign players in their squad? That's a bit of a fee for a second choice striker. Is he even that good?
Daley Blind and Nigel De Jong sure sound like transfers that could be done in 24 hours too...
Blind and De Jong are mediocre imo.
Yeah, I think they're already one above the foreign cap, so they'd need to get rid of two, I guess. They want another striker. Costa, Torres and Drogba are already there. Im guessing they are getting rid of Torres. Also don't they have a problem with too many foreign players in their squad?
They fit van Gaal's system and that's all that matters. It's becoming increasingly obvious that players like Fletcher and Cleverley simply do not cut the mustard.Blind and De Jong are mediocre imo. They will help us beat the average teams we are struggling against but I think big teams may still walk over us.
We need to be a bit more than 'keen' on Vidal
I'm not saying we would but I'm just saying that he would be attainable if you put the money on the table for him. And Vidal's injury is a knee injury, the last time we bought a player with the same kind of injury he player 40 games in 4 years for us, whereas the last time we bought someone who had had an injury similar to Strootman's he ended up outscoring Thierry Henry.Yes because we will so willing to pay £50m for a crocked player just coming back and having not played even for two months. We didn't want to pay £40m for Vidal who had a less serious injury and who has since then come back and played in a few games.
It seems like we're practically trying to give Anderson away so I don't think we should worry about him too much. And Vidal, Blind and Herrera is a midfield that could be helping us compete for the league with our wealth of attacking options.I'm all for signing Blind and De Jong if it means Cleverley and Anderson never set a foot on the OT pitch again in an United shirt and Fletcher is used only sparingly. Going from a Carrick, Cleverley, Giggs, Fellaini to a Herrera, Blind, Carrick, De Jong midfield in the space of three months would be quite an improvement, though someone like Vidal would obviously be the icing on the cake.
much rather have de jong than blind.Dream: Vidal and Blind or even just Vidal
Still OK: Blind
Do not want: De Jong
De Jong would be more useful than Blind. De Jong is a pure DM and would instantly provide cover for our back 4.Dream: Vidal and Blind or even just Vidal
Still OK: Blind
Do not want: De Jong
De Jong would improve us immensely mate. We need a psycho hacker in the middle of the pitch. We're too tame.Dream: Vidal and Blind or even just Vidal
Still OK: Blind
Do not want: De Jong
