Matt Law has no insight. Classic clickbait article.

Do people really think Di Maria would be that good a signing? I would prefer Vidal.

Yes.

Vidal would be equally good, but because of his knees signing him would be inherently more risky.

Seeing as our current crop of wingers are about surviving relegation standard - I'd say so.

If we were to sign Di Maria and keep Young, then I think we'll get rid of Welbeck as there's no where to play him. Unless we get rid of Kagawa and rotate Januzaj, Welbeck and Mata as the no.10.
I hate these kinds of posts. Every player can't play every game, we need a good squad as well as a good first team.

It wouldn't solve as many issues as signing a midfielder of the same quality, but signing one of the top players around right now would definitely be a brilliant signing.

I'd take him over Ozil and Sanchez for example.

That is a great idea. Let all offer to play and see if Woodward bites. I'll take around 2,000 pound a week. Glazernomics would satisfied and I can fail and hoof as well as the next million pound player.
If you can promise not to hoof it forwards, you may have a chance there. What's your injury record like. Being available for more than 4 or 5 games at a time, might be a show stopper. It would help if you were a bit colour blind. We need to make sure the opposition have a distinct advantage when you have the ball.

A player who single-handedly creates more chances than our current crop of wingers combined (do remember the majority of his Madrid career has been out wide). Nah wouldn't be that good a signing. We don't need good delivery, the ability to beat a man, great technique, useful pace and footballing intelligence.

Honestly, Di Maria's wife liking a pic that includes Manchester United stuff is a thousand times more concrete than any of the Twitter comments from random journos are.

Didn't Di Maria play brilliant for Real last season as a LCM and he was being referred to as Real's engine.

Yeah, and I think that maybe he could be used in a midfield 3 with Herrera and Mata, although that does seem rather weak defensively. It's the only way I can see us fitting in Mata, Rvp, Rooney and Di Maria, without ADM playing wing back which surely we wouldn't do.

S**t doesn't this guy work for Sky Sports? Adds a bit more credibility to the rumours. Even though I'm not Danny's biggest fan I would rather sell Hernandez than him. On the plus side if this does happen it should result in more chances for James Wilson.

If Welbeck is leaving then surely we have more players coming in? I know that van Gaal said he wants a small squad but we're going to lack even more pace in our squad if he goes.

I'll be gutted if Welbeck gets sold, he's such a good player and will only get better. There are many more shite players in our squad who should be moved on before him.

Sigh, that's expensive, especially back then. I always thought it was around 16-18m :nervous:

I suppose the add-ons is a good thing. Means we've been hella successful over the 5 years.

Was £17m+ addons which would make it around £20m in all. He got his exchange rates wrong and doesn't want to admit it - Euro was about 1.52 to the pound at the time

Ok so the Mirror, Telegraph and Sky Sports are all running with this story. The media has certainly been briefed on this.

If we lose Welbeck a stellar forward/winger has to be on the way in, don't they? Given that Hernandez has definitely been told he can leave as well.

Likely LVG thinks of Welbeck as more of a winger than a striker anyway.

Why is it all stories about players leaving us with very few real stories about players coming in?, we have lost a lot of players this season and the squad is as weak as its been for a lot of years.
We are so frustrating at times.

If LvG wanted him to go but not signing anyone then frankly I will start doubting LvG ability

If Welbeck is leaving then we are 100% making a signing. If Di Maria and Welbeck are fighting for the same spot in the team i know who i`d pick and in an instant

If we sell Danny and it's for no reason then people will be even more angry than they are now.
