Crazy!

I'd rather we paid them €6 more & kept Nani.

The implications are promising though in my opinion. We just shifted a winger, an area Van Gaal says we are void of quality. It's a squad position opened in my opinion.

Clearly the transfer of Rojo was dependant on them getting Nani - not the money. Van Gaal doesnt want him and we'd be paying his wages anyway. It makes perfect sense.

So they are allowed to sign players in this transfer window but they will not be able to sing anyone during the winter transfer window and next summer

Loads of rumours on twitter right now that Lucas Silva has handed in a transfer request reportedly. Cannot find a legit source for it though so far.

I guess that is January and Summer windows closed for them then.

The fact they have signed players already in this window obviously voids this window so I'd imagine that they can still sign players up until Sep 1st.

Also for what it's worth, this is no surprise. Barcelona were not expecting to win the appeal they just needed to use the suspension of the sentence to sort their squad out during this window which is why in my eyes they should have lengthened the ban as they were clearly using the system with this frivolous appeal.

Correct.

I agree - appeals lost should generally result in extended sentences in these kind of circumstances. Tough call regardless though, because it's a massive ban in the first place.

yeah but we know that there is no way in hell the were going to lengthen it but it should really have been lengthened by at least one window ;)

Exactly, its ridiculous that there was no extra sanctions imposed especially given how much they spent this window.

I agree, as they have been allowed to use this transfer window, they should have lengthened the ban to 3 windows. FIFA and EUFA have no control over some teams.

People are linking Sky Sources to their tweets regarding his supposed transfer request.

Roughly £90,000 a week. I am amazed that we're paying it in full. Surely they could have paid £20,000 and we pay the rest or so. Ah well, hopefully there's a reason behind us doing this.
The reason is that if we paid extra in transfer frees doyen could claim a share, this way we placated Sporting Lisbon's concerns of making pittance from the deal by giving the sweetner through Nani's wages. Win win for us and Sporting, loss for Doyen

Good shout.

Barcelona are fecked.

Pique (overrated as hell), Barta (promising), Vermaelen (injury prone and not that good), Mascherano, Alba, Alves, Montoya. They needed to buy a world class CB to be sure for the next years. I can see a few teams upsetting Barcelona with that defence in the next 2 years, but atleast they signed Suarez, eh?

That's crazy! Why are we paying all his wages? Sporting are in the CL after all. I know they can't afford to pay all his wages but surely they could afford around 25% of them
.

We are maintaining a good relationship, they won't get much from the Rojo deal, by adding Nani in the deal, we allowed Sporting to benefit from this transfer without having to share with Doyens.

Suppose Fellaini being injured doesnt really matter, since he was only going to get loaned anyway.

It only wouldn't have mattered had we been signing another midfielder.
How would having just Cleverley, Herrera, Fletcher and Anderson (is he even fit) make sense. For one it wouldn't as three are very average players and secondly what if one of them gets injured - it not as if our players are not dropping like flies or anything!

They are receiving all of the Rojo transfer fee. They terminated their agreement with Doyen who had a 75% share in him as they had advised him to go on strike. Doyen are taking them to court over this so Sporting may only end up getting 25% of the fee but as it stands they are getting 100%.

It started from some guy called @RedScouts who said Jim White said it on SSN. Probably bollocks.

They are going in court, they will pay Doyen at some point. You can't terminate a contract without fulfilling it.

Just watch this space.

They can if Doyen breached the contract by telling Rojo to go on strike. It all depends on what the terms of the contract were.
