Saw the quotes from Eurosports. Despite the headline being "Muller rejects astronomical offer from Manchester United" all muller said was he received higher offers from other clubs. The question was if Man United bid for him, but he didn't mention us at all. Sources are taking digs at United at every opportunity.
Edit: he did say prices circulated were astronomical. I think circulated is the key word here.
When you start the summer by proclaiming that major signings will be made and then close to the deadline appear to have made far fewer than were suggested, you can expect snipes from every journo going, frankly. Many supporters are equally incredulous and also fed up.
He's not going to want to sit on the bench behind Falcao.
When did this happen?
because its complete bollocks 99% of the time, a piss easy story for some journo to run. 3 players we've managed to land this window have had little competition from anywhere. Why when we get linked with a player are rival for them are always Real/Barca/Monaco etc. It's like we are beaten before we start. Yet everyone who wants a payrise gets themselves linked with us as well.
Lovely. Another midfielder down.

If the reports were true then he was going out on loan anyway.

That's a big blow for them. Maybe loan them one of our youngsters.
A bit late on this, but S/J/E are massively underrated. They outperformed Rio & Vidic last season by some distance - we conceded 0.82 goals per game with S/J/E central defence partnerships last season and 1.26 goals per game when Rio and/or Vidic featured. Not to mention a W: D:L ratio of 8:1:2 with SJE and 10/6/11 with Rio and/or Vidic featuring. That's right - 73% of our games where Rio & Vidic were absent ended up with victories. When Rio and/or Vidic were present, we only won 37%.Hmmm....What's interesting about that is, our defence of Smalling, Jones and Evans were just as shit then, as they are now.
