Did you not see that Arsenal team? The missing ingredient: Sir Alex Ferguson. The recent problems only serve to highlight his greatness as a manager.

Did you not see that Arsenal team?
I did. Did you see the United team? Its basically the same team we're calling crap today.
Different teams at different times. We had players who were in form and fearless, where as Arsenal had a load of young guns who at the time were, as Paul Merson put it so hilariously on the day "slaughter to the lambs". On paper now the Arsenal team will read better than United's but at the time their team was full of unproven youngsters who are just now finding their feet, whereas our teams was consistent and in good form - it showed.I did. Did you see the United team? Its basically the same team we're calling crap today.
So its all basically down to Fergie? And the strength of the opposition team had nothing to do with it?I did. Did you see the United team? Its basically the same team we're calling crap today.

In terms of the transfer fee, the selling club holds the best cards when you get to this late in the window.I dont understand how clubs talk to agent or the player without agreeing a fee with the club first? That is what causes unsettling and the player slowly starts making noises about leaving and before you know you are losing your player for like half the price.
Not necessarily. Take the Lescott situation for example. City signed him in the last week on the window and paid £22m. Although that is a lot of money for Lescott, weren't Everton holding out for something closer to £30m if Im not mistaken? They had to lower the price because he was desperately to leave and didn't put in an effort in his last game for them.In terms of the transfer fee, the selling club holds the best cards when you get to this late in the window.
Far too inconsistent for my liking. He probably wasn't doing what LVG asked of him in training and that's why he's off.I really liked him. Hope he does well and perhaps comes back for us next year.
Ah. The 3 weeks or so when Anderson looked like he'd fulfill his potential, Cleverley looked a world class midfielder in the making and Ashley Young seemed like a bargain signing.

I tracked that picture. Was posted on Jul 18th
BS story ?

Wow! No buzz regarding Rojo's signing.. Shows how tiring the last few weeks have been w.r.t transfer rumors. I think this has been one of the most frustrating transfer windows to date, lets hope the next 10 days are better than the last 50..
Obviously that'll be fake without question.
That Anderson Cleverley partnership was the shit until Kevin Davis crocked Clevs. Lets blame Kevin Davis for the shit we are in!
The good ole days, before Kevin Davies tried to break Cleverley's leg out of frustration of being outshone by a 21 year old. At times, still some of the most entertaining football United have played in a while
Also, that was a time when the young Phil Jones was being compared to Duncan Edwards by highly respected posters on here
Don't get your hopes up. If we sign anyone else, it'll be Blind or someone totally out of left field. Squad is pretty rubbish. It's not as bad as some are making it out but we have too many average players on big money. Chelsea, Arsenal and City all have comfortably better squads. Liverpool's is marginally better just because it is more balanced and the players are knitted together in their system well. All 4 of those teams will probably finish above us if nothing changes. Despite having a great strike force, we are at Spurs/Everton level right now because the deficiencies in our midfield are having a deleterious effect on the other parts of the team. No proper protection for the defence, poor supply to the forwards and wide players, an inability to transition from defence to attack efficiently and/or quickly and trouble winning back possession when lost. This has the potential to be an ugly season again. All that can change that is some miracle in the transfer market or just genius management from Van Gaal.
Let's not forget that, Welbeck aside, we have absolutely no pace in the team whatsoever. You have to have pace in the modern game.

Don't think this has been posted but just to offer a bit of perspective....
Then it would be something different of course, but holding out for a better price, even if the fee is already fair isn't a necessary strategy IMO, especially if there's always the risk of us missing out.

My god, I think about 250 players rejected us if we were to believe all the shit out there.

The media are just loving it.Yup. Basically whichever plays anywhere in the world and who is not on payroll of Manchester United has rejected us if we are to believe twitter and media.
Why do our signings look like lesbians? First Herrera now him
