...although club officials believe the deal will be concluded sooner rather than later

He's not claimed the deal is not happening, or anything like that.

If we are paying his wages in full:
I'm sure Nani's delighted to be going back to Portugal, on a full wage, to find his feet, play every week and be treated like a hero.

It really is appalling. If it's true, we've basically used him as a makeweight pawn to get Rojos in.
He may well be delighted. Though it would say a lot about why he's being offloaded as it would signify he doesn't give a shit about his career.

Who cares if we'll pay Nani's wages or not..

It's essentially adding on approx £5m to the value of the deal.

Not that it matters a great deal what happens to Nani but I assume people would rather we offloaded Nani for a low fee.

Screw the Nani part, we finally got another body who can play in defense! Now Ed's got 11 more days to get a big one..

Can't believe we handed this lump of crap a 5 year deal worth £120k a week last summer. The incompetence is staggering.

The club has been pretty spastic of late but there is no way that his contract isn't heavily performance related. I reckon his base salary is more like 60-70K a week. And if we have trouble finding someone else to take him on at the wages he wants, then it makes sense to loan him out to facilitate the Rojo deal. He wasn't going to play here anyway. Hopefully he has a great season in Portugal and adds a few million to his transfer fee. It's also possible that it is a loan with option to buy.

As I said, I don't understand why people care about those kind of stuff.

So he posts this then 30 minutes later the deal is confirmed.....goes to show he knows feck all.
They're saying the same thing on MUTV regarding the Rojo transfer. Apparently he's affiliated with the same agency as Mangala and that's why the transfer took so long to be confirmed because of red tape.

Someone should do a Jaws gif and put Woodward's head on Roy Schneider and Vidal/Di Mairia's head on Jaws popping up out of the water

Much better than having him sit on his arse over here all season.
Well if he's fit and our numbers aren't going to bolstered much, it'd be better for us to have him here given we're paying his wages.

Don't think that's fair. Nani's confidence has been dented and we've never really given him the leeway we do for others to re-find his feet. Nani (before injury), Young and Valencia have all been poor for a long time, and yet Nani is always the first one pulled. It can't have helped him feel valued so there's fair reason to believe he needs to go somewhere he'll play on a weekly basis and feel like a somebody again.

Because it makes the deal bizarre? And begs the question of why the hell we gave him a new contract?

Paying Nani's wages for a year while he is on loan could be a way of sweetening the deal for Sporting without them having to give Doyen a cut.

If they had no interest in him then how the feck would they know? Utter bollocks.

Okay, no time to pat ourselves on the back after signing Rojo, lets get the rest of the players we need to make top 4!

Have you ever wondered why three successive managers have felt the same way about Nani and yet Young and Valencia remain?

Did anyone here watch United in the Press? I missed it, what did they say?
