Fantastic, I'm glad Galatasaray didn't want to pay a whole £8.5m for him. Keeping hold of our players is key, and if Rooney stays which is looking likely then our squad will have improved on last years when you take into account Zaha in the fold and Januzaj looking I've stepping up.

Erm no actually. 8kg is only a stone and as Strength and Conditioning coach I have worked with many athletes. You'd be surprised how easy it is to get a stone over weight. I think at the the very minimum he's half a stone over. If Anderson was around 10% body fat he'd look a lot different. You can tell by looking at his face. I think he has a good few pounds to shed before he's in top condition.

Ronaldo misses first practice

Cristiano Ronaldo, as well as Pepe, Fabio Coentrao and Bruno Alves, will not join the training this afternoon's National Team, the first aimed at the private meeting scheduled for Wednesday against the Netherlands at the Algarve Stadium.
The four players have asked permission to arrive late to the stage, even beyond the time scheduled for the start of the workout (17:30 hours, at the National Stadium).
Thus, the workshop should only count on 19 players.

Well he's in the squad for the Portugal friendly on Wednesday. He could still be flying back in time for sure but just saying like.
