Not sure how reliable the below is:

@56_united: Globoesporte reporting that sao paolos president has buckled under the pressure to sell lucas to manchester united.

Paulo Freitas ‏@Cynegeticus
'Lance!' now reporting that #MUFC will make a final offer of €40m for L.Moura & offer him a 5-year contract. They think SPFC may accept it.

Lance also reports that he'll be on around 30k/week. So the wages+fee package will be pretty affordable.
If reports are true and Hazard is on 180k, this will cost around 8m a year less in wages.
mental.

Yeah I think he will be happy with that and the % of the transfer deal etc lol. It's a good deal for him and works out ok for the club.

So assuming he sticks to the same contract for two and a half years, we'll pay him around £4.5m in wages during that time while a more expensive and proven player on £120k a week which seems to be the standard these days would take home £15m during the same period of time. So it'd be equivalent of signing the latter for £20m. Value.

Lucas will be better

All I've seen is the YouTube clips but he can do magical things with the ball.

I think we'll see a lot more of these high-priced deals for youngsters. Everybody wants the next Messi and as soon as they 'explode' on the scene, it's going to be £100 million to buy them, so although it's a huge fee, in theory it could be a 'bargain'.

Big risk though, which is where you have to trust Fergie and the scouting team.

started with this:

Darren Can‏@Darren_Can

Find it curious @steviebateman (ex Sky) says he is a 'lover of people' in his biography. Curious, considering he is a convicted rapist

Bateman replied with: 'Are you real, sir?'

then:

Darren Can‏@Darren_Can

@ProudRed85 I've checked him out and asked around. Used to work for Sky but left. Convicted of rape when Sky were Harrogate based.

Most people on twitter were like, WTF??

then..

Darren Can‏@Darren_Can

@steviebateman Would you like to refute the claim or agree with it?

he never replied...and has now disappeared off twitter.

Darren can posted this link http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co....peal-against-conviction-is-rejected-1-2177345

which is supposedly Stevie bateman.

Interesting!

Odd story which was posted in the newbs regarding this Stevie Bateman bloke who has been posting transfer stories and who apparently worked for Sky previously.

Still......he does make exceedingly good rumours.

Even if it's true he is convicted has Darren Can still not slightly pushed some law boundaries here? Surely if he was released some sort of identity protection was part of it and Can has now broke that

I doubt Mr Can is morally outraged; more likely he's pissed off at Bateman taking potential followers from him.

would be the perfect place for the Keanu Reeves conspiracy meme

"what if all the anonymous football ITKs are convicted rapists, but are smart enough to not use their own names because they could be outed" or something

A mistake? The court were told it was "to teach her a lesson".

There should be no extrajudicial punishment for politically incorrect crimes. He has the same right to a fresh start as anyone convicted of a criminal offence.

That said, I got a pm from a poster called Daz, who I presume is a newb, saying that this Bateman guy was harassing a girl on twitter.

Yes that's a mistake - a very big mistake but still a mistake. afaik we are not talking about a serial rapists but someone who made a mistake and he paid for it.
Anyway, imo darren's slur was not motivated by morality....

Who is Darren Can anyway?

As an earlier poster mentioned there doesn't appear to be anything online by way of articles written by him and that blog linked on his twitter page is pure shite.

Darren Can is a journalist but uses twitter to explain things and seems to have a lot of contacts so he'll break news etc. He's legit and has a blog that he wrote last summer explaining a lot of things to do with transfers, agents etc.

The report is from an Argentina paper. They may just be sourcing the Mirror, who knows.
