No contact, formal or informal, from United to Everton over Baines for those asking about it #MUFC #EFC

James Ducker(Probably the most reliable for United related matters)

Exactly. We played a midfield of Park and Rafael against Blackburn which I'm sure he loved.

Have you watched Pogba play at all? Technically excellent but incredibly naive tactically, especially in terms of his positioning and defensive responsibility.

Now that day against Blackburn both Park and Rafael played in CM because we were missing a whole defense and therefore Carrick was forced to move back into CB alongside a positionally suspect Jones. This weak and unfamiliar defense needed some cover in front of it and SAF obviously thought, rightly or wrongly, that Park and Rafa would cover the back four more sufficiently than Pogba could in a midfield two, and that the team he put out would be enough to win the game. Its obvious things didnt work out that way but it could easily have gone differently. I don't necessarily agree with his selection that day but I can at least see the logic behind it.

Anyway im just pointing out its nonsense to suggest that this game played any part in his decision to leave us, and if it did I wouldn't want his defeatist attitude here anyway. I think Pogba's motivations are clear when you see Juve's midfield options and compare it to ours, he's not leaving for playing time thats for sure.

A few times for the reserves, which isn't a lot, but I doubt he could have done much worse that day. I'm just saying that game could have been a contributing factor as he rarely played last season when our midfield wasn't the strongest and Juventus were probably dangling a large carrot in front of him.

As Fergie said himself in the quote, players like him will leave if they don't play. If he doesn't want to be here then I doubt anyone is too bothered but it'll be interesting to see how comes out on the better side of the situation in a few years.

Just to reiterate that whole nonsense from yesterday:

Despite press reports (and the Twitter grapevine), I'm assured by folk at Carrington that there is no Rodrigo Alvarez on #MUFC's books.

That's from conversations with goalkeeping coaches and secretarial staff, btw. This has been a productive week for Twitter fraudsters.

Wasn't sure where to put this as it's not a transfer rumour per se but I was wondering if anyone else noticed it?

Basically about 30 minutes ago I refreshed my Twitter and looked down through the messages where I saw this tweet by Sky Sports:

Can I do Larnell or will it piss off United? Can I do Raheem how long is his first pro

I opened the user who posted this in a new tab to make sure it was the official sky twitter account, which it was, but then when I went to find the comment there I found it had seemingly been deleted. On that tab I opened up my Twitter again and scrolled down to where the comment had been and sure enough it wasn't there any more, however I still have it on my other tab.

Now it may be absolutely nothing but it has me wondering whether there is some news about Larnell Cole on the way? If you remember there was rumours back in May that he had signed for Leicester. Also he is represented by that agent who represents Larnell and I got the feeling from his Twitter a while back he wasn't too fond of United.

The second part I would guess the guy was saying something about Raheem Sterling and maybe realised he was typing it in the wrong place but sent it out by mistake.

Again could be nothing to do with Larnell Cole or Raheem Sterling but just wanted to put it out there and see if anyone else saw anything?

I saw that too. Probably nothing IMO.

And now he's going to teach us a lesson by going to Juve to be a reserve.

He'll play if he's good enough, if not then I think they'll loan him out. He'll be in the exact same position as he was at United at the very worst.

@DuncanCastles: Understand that Tottenham have completed the transfer of Ajax central defender Jan Vertonghen

Tottenham have agreed to sign defender Zeki Fryers in a move that has infuriated Manchester United and will be resolved at a tribunal

Wow the last batch of the winning fayc really believed their own hype! It's a shame really because all the players who are leaving were the ones regarded most highly. But in a way it maybe a an indication for our up & coming batch. If the likes of pogba, morrison & fryers do well then other clubs will point out to our future stars they can too hav successful careers…but if they don't then we can Point to them as why not to leave the club.

Fryers is still a bit behind first team starter wise. Still though with Fabio out on loan he'd be involved first team wise to some extent. It will be the same position for him at Spurs, surprising move really. We wanted rid of Morrison really in the end, we didnt offer him a new deal according to SAF press convo's, talent will only get you so far. Pogba, well he let an agent get inside his head and he went with it.

He's not an ITK, nor does he pretend to be... all he does is put streams up for games. Wouldn't trust it until someone else that's reliable puts it up.

So Kagawa's work permit held up in Phillipines...silly question...but what has work permit between Japan and Britain got to do with Manila?

The MUFC Academy ‏@mrmujac
Ok...so Manila processes work permits from Asia to UK...so why the delay?

Clearly they put his work permit in a manila envelope when mailing it.

I wouldn't personally put Fryers in that category. I might be wrong but I don't think Fryers played much in the Youth Cup run. Now that was partly because of injury but I never remember being overly impressed watching him in the youth sides when he was fit.

Will Keane, Sam Johntone, Tom Thorpe, Ryan Tunnicliffe and Tyler Blackett are some of the players from that side who I would rate more than Fryers.

I do not get this. I watch his streams/stream caps yet he tries to throw one out there as an ITK with a transfer tweet??

Looks like you were right, sky now reporting larnell is getting a new contract

That's a relief, the way it was phrased I thought it might be something bad. I also forgot to mention that that agent had said on Twitter a few days ago that he had a meeting at old Trafford. Hope Larnell is included in the squad for the pre-season tour.

It's probably the right thing to do if true.

I've a lot of time for Park, he's been a very good servant to us and has always been 100% professional.

But I see no room for him in the squad now, I couldn't see him getting a lot of game time.

This pretty much sums up how i feel about it as well.

Great servant, but time to move on.
