That's what it sounds like. Mueller probably has more than enough to compel him to change sides in exchange for leniency.
Trump exposes nothing but his own stupidity. My issue with this is that you're thinking is part of the problem as you are not picking you're fights. More often then not when someone posts an example of something from Trump or the Republican Party that makes our collective jaws drop you immediately step in with some whataboutism and post some right wing blog or article about how Hillary is a bitch, Obama is a murderer and the Dems are worse than the Putin regime. That's great and all but the report is from the ACLU in 2013.
That reference is lost on me. Ive already stated multiple times I prefer a Trump presidency to a Pence presidency. I choose to remain focuses on the real enemies of progress in this country. The republican party, the national security apparatus, the neoliberal democrats.
It's illuminating how many liberals are willing to jump into bed with the likes of Bill Kristol and the FBI just because Trump exposes how flawed so many of our institutions are.
Trump will eventually be out of office and the logical end of The Resistance will be to scatter to the wind (see the famous "if Hillary had won we would be at brunch right now" sign). There has to be a left wing movement beyond Trump and that means not compromising on single payer and wall street regulation and workers rights. And it means not getting teary eyed every time Jeff Flake or some other craven politician says "We are all Americans" despite voting with Trump 93% of the time. It means constantly advocating for important left wing issues and keeping the pressure on Democrats so that they "evolve".
Imagine if Trump died tomorrow. People celebrate, there's a funeral and then what? We still face the same republican party and the same neoliberal democrats. Trump doesn't change the challenges we face, he is merely a symptom of them.
He just tries to not appear that partisan.Fair play. Wonder if he’s had enough of Trump.

I don’t think Ryan is angling for fair play as much as to relieve public perception that this is a one sided affair. He knows that Trump will in the end have to approve the declassification of the Dem counter memo, which isn’t likely since it apparently is a line for line debunking of the Nunes memo.
This spineless bastard? Hell fecking no.Fair play. Wonder if he’s had enough of Trump.
Right choice, but where did you put it? I found it interesting even tho off topic.Ok, I've cleaned up the latest thread derailment. Now let's get back to the actual topic.

Aaah feck that....Random Chat thread at the top of the CE
No way any side in this would agree to be televized.Have they arranged an interview yet... and Im guessing the odds are slim - but any chance its televised as it would be pure ratings gold
Aha! (Just catching up wth this thread)
I didn't realise that. Funny how the tide ebbs and flows in this story. Its not ebbing Trump's way right now if the nervousness in his GOP sidekicks is any indication. At the end of the day its all up to Trump to declassify whatever is in the Dem memo, so if he views its contents as going against what is in the Nunes memo, then he may not allow it.
That would be the ultimate cnuttery and also a test if there are republicans with some decency left in them.At the end of the day its all up to Trump to declassify whatever is in the Dem memo, so if he views its contents as going against what is in the Nunes memo, then he may not allow it.
Just checking if I'm following this...
Republican members of the house intelligence committee have drafted a memo, that we are lead to believe contains things that are true but hugely misleading without context. They want to release it.
Democrats who have seen the memo have drafted their own response to it, putting in the context. They want to release it.
Is that the current state?

Pretty much. The Republican memo (aka the Nunes Memo) is basically a 4 page summary of how Nunes interpreted a much longer FISA request to monitor Carter Page. Nunes and his staff apparently cherrypicked things they wanted to and created a memo in order to vilify elements of the FBi. Trump is now championing this and wants to release it, apparently to muddy the FBI's credibility in the Russia investigation.
The Dems now want to put out their own countermemo that is apparently a line for line debunking of why the Nunes memo is inaccurate and the two sides are arguing over whether the Nunes memo should be released, and if it is released why the Dem memo shouldn't come out simultaneously.
Where does the 'some of it has been altered' fit in to it?
The Republicans have the majority for the committee so approved a version of the memo then changed it after and sent to the White House.Where does the 'some of it has been altered' fit in to it?
Seeing increasing stories looking at Nunes having actively coordinating with the WH.
Fair play. Wonder if he’s had enough of Trump.
He is shady and should be locked up the minute this drops.Nunes and the Dems met to discuss the memo the other day and vote on its release. During that session the Dems read what Nunes had drafted up and voted on it. Then apparently, word got out that the text that Nunes sent to Trump later for release approval later in the day had been altered. Once the Dems found out they protested. So now its not known whether what the Dems saw in committee is the same thing as what was sent to the White House, which of course makes Nunes look very shady.
