Trump/Russia/SDNY investigation

It's an entirely bullshit argument they're making, but once the seed has been planted in the FOX viewers' minds, it won't matter. The Mueller team stole those e-mails, and they all belong in prison. All of this, eventually, will come down to whether the Republicans see those viewers as a large enough group to keep carrying Trump's water.

There's an interesting article on CNN right now that does a decent job of outlining the FOX/Trump effect. Basically, FOX sees what Trump wants and, knowing he watches them nearly all day, feeds it right back to him. Then he, seeing that, assumes that the whole country agrees with him (since FOX is #1 and all). A lot of us are tearing our hair out (rightly) about how FOX is convincing some of the public that Mueller needs to go and therefore laying the groundwork for acceptance of the idea, but what we're overlooking is the real possibility that they're convincing Trump to do it in the first place.

Renato to the rescue. Good explanation of all of this.

Thanks for the post - good to have the situation explained with such clarity. Very telling that Mueller went to the GSA and not Trump's lawyers to get the emails. The guy appears to be at least one step ahead of the Trump circus at all times. He's followed up with this..

Further evidence, if needed, of the incompetence of the people around Trump.

If he did collude (I don't think he did) and the evidence is strong it will be fascinating but depressing to watch his supporters defend his actions.

They’ve separated the events in their mind. It’s not “Trump betrayed us by committing treason”. It’s “our candidate did what he needed to do to get into power and we must support him”.

Yep and quickly followed by "but Hilary...."

Trump will read that as an admission of Mueller's criminal act.

 Not enough capitals there, mate.

He's more than likely either going to use the fundraising money to pay for this lawyers or completely stiff them.

No wonder he couldn't get any respectable representation given his track record of not paying people.

Ah man, if this is true and they banked their email security on a guy who then popped it...

Hoooooly shit that is incredible. I’m certain we are going to see Trump make a very desperate move soon and it’ll be the end of him.

So, Trump lies/complains about the 'millions and millions' of dollars spent on the Russia investigation (actually around $3m), yet the US government spent a massive $22m p.a. for five years(!) investigating UFOs. Cry me a Don River. I mean, river, Don.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...nning-secret-ufo-investigation-for-five-years

$3mil wouldn't be a lot of money for Uganda for this sort of thing, for the US it's like pocket lint. It's just another sad attempt to make a big fuzz about nothing that anyone with a brain can see is no big deal whatsoever. (the money spent that is)

not reading that, whats it say?

Trump's team put a guy in charge of an agency that Mueller would eventually request emails from, meaning he'd reject Mueller when the request inevitably came. Problem is, the guy in charge died, and Trump's team, although they were obviously aware he'd passed away, just assumed he'd stored the emails beyond reach. He hadn't, the agency handed over the emails without any issues, and Mueller then surprised Kushner and team Trump in general when he referred to the emails, completely catching them off guard and leaving them shitting themselves.
