Trump/Russia/SDNY investigation

The mistrial counts have to be retried. Look at the state of that juror ffs?
Think this shit is going to set alarm bells ringing. Jurors openly chanting MAGA.

Decent chance at least one or two jurors would be Trump fans. The question is, how the hell did they make it through the jury screeninig process.

Agreed. You'd think their bulging eyes, MAGA hats, and semi automatic weapons would give the game away.

Not very wise timing if he does, to say the least.

"The market would crash. Everyone would be very poor, because without this (pointing to his head) thinking, you would see numbers you wouldn't believe"
This is the fecking President? I really feel like I entered the twilight zone.

Isn't it already pretty much guaranteed that they will?
I thought it was still up in the air as they'll want to decide if that's the best use of their time and resources. Had it been a bigger split, it probably wouldn't be but at 10-1 they should be comfortable with the evidence they put forth. I believe they have until next week to make an official decision.

Read some thoughts on Twitter that this is probably Graham putting Trump in check a bit. He's cornered now and the public reaction to this potential plan should probably keep Trump from pulling the trigger.

Let's hope. Any move against Sessions, whether before or after the midterms, would be viewed as an attempt to get his hands on Mueller (which itself would be widely interpreted as an attempt to obstruct). All things said, Trump is fecked since there are increasingly few moves he can make to escape getting check mated.

Also, he thinks he's playing checkers

Meeting about prison reform but wouldn't surprise me if he was sacked after leaving the White House (Trump won't do it face to face). Timing of Sessions' statement was deliberate. Think he knows something is going down soon.

Trump should probably focus more on his own case than scheming on ways to obstruct it from proceeding. As it stands, he is currently dealing with a three front war - Mueller, SDNY, and state charges in NY.

The day of reckoning of coming for the GOP. This man is going to sack Sessions.

Finding Mr. Manafort guilty was hard for me. I wanted him to be innocent, I really wanted him to be innocent, but he wasn’t,” Duncan said. “That’s the part of a juror, you have to have due diligence and deliberate and look at the evidence and come up with an informed and intelligent decision, which I did.

Every day when I drove, I had my Make America Great Again hat in the backseat,” said Duncan, who said she plans to vote for Trump again in 2020. “Just as a reminder.”

How can you take a jury like this seriously?

It's hilarious that all the discussion on Trump impeding Mueller - how to do it, when to do it, the ramifications - inherently assumes that Mueller's investigation is going to end badly for Trump. If there was no collusion, no conspiracy, etc, then a clean Mueller report would be the golden ticket for Trump 2020. But of course that just simply will not happen because it's not the truth. The GOP are at least in some part acknowledging that inevitability so I guess that's progress.

I still don't know whether to somewhat admire Sessions or not. He s obviously a scumbag in his own right but he is also doing the country a big service in a way by staying rooted as if he s the only immovable object in this whole thing. I can't help but think he is the GOP's version of a safe word.

No.

Nah feck Sessions. The family separation policy, ICE's brutality, etc is his doing. He deserves no credit for just now coming to the realization that Trump is a coward who eventually screws over everyone.

You re exactly right. Shows how easy it is to forget about the bad things with the constant barrage coming out of this administration. Was also watching a Frontline documentary about MS13 and kids being locked up for supposedly being members without due process and without real evidence.. Being falsely accused without a way to quickly secure their release. To be fair - that was also a Rosenstein thing but at least he owned it by allowing himself to be interviewed for it.

Having said all that.. My belief he acts like a sort of safe word still stands. Clearly when it comes down to it, they can hold him up as some sort of symbol of any sense of morality if Trump is ousted and make the population forget about DoJs mistakes.

If Trump thought he could get rid of Sessions he'd do it. If he genuinely thought shutting down the Mueller investigation was an option open to him, he'd do it. To my mind the fact he keeps threatening to replace Sessions and end the Mueller probe is simply a sign of his frustration at knowing he isn't able to, at least not without making things far worse than they already are.

Sessions is putting up with trump humiliating him because hes able to deport people and split up families. That is his life's work.
Yes, exactly. It's a small price to pay for someone that devoted to the cause. And let's not forget he's the who legitimized Stephen Miller.

If you guys haven't read the full plea deal and the amount of evidence the government has against trump you should honestly read it. Its amazing

First of all it basically confirms that the agreement with Daniels isn't an NDA it's a full blown settlement agreement. Unlike a confidentiality agreement /NDA a settlement agreement can only be done if you have compromising claims.

So when trump says he only did it to keep her quiet from saying fake news that's garbage (not that we didn't know but the government and Cohen have basically confirmed it is) The settlement agreement means stormy herself has evidence about the affair and both parties agreed that it happened. Pretty hilarious.

Also a part in the notes shows that Pecker brought not just McDougal but stormy Daniels to Cohen attention. Where Cohen would pay pecker for keeping it out of the news.

Trump organisation payed back Cohen in installments in 2017 and they paid for it through the Trump charity fund . Alan Weiselberg sanctioned everything and they literally have all the emails and receipts to prove this.

Pecker flipping is just fantastic
