I mean at Liverpool. Hardly matters if they still don't win anything. They can keep getting decent players all they want, a bunch of decent players isn't going to help them. Klopp has completely failed in cup finals and Salah isn't exactly going to win them the league.
Whatever Liverpool does it irrelevant to us in terms of players. We aren't going after the same types of players or even the same status of players. If we struggle against a team like Liverpool with all the advantages we have over them it has more to do with our failure. We compete with Chelsea and City in terms of transfers. No one else in the PL matters in the window.
From what I've heard Salah has comfortably been a better performer than Perisic. But I trust Mourinho. If he's worked with Salah and still preferred Perisic there must be a reason.

They aren't even remotely similar to how they play. You can't compare their status because of it.

Nah not really. I'm Egyptian myself and followed Salah since he was here in Egypt till he's in Roma now so I know what sort of player he's. Salah has scored 15 goals and 11 assists in Serie A this season. His stats are excellent compared to all other wingers in this league so it's strange to describe him as pacey winger only. He has developed a lot since his Chelsea failure experience when he didn't get a single chance there and not just a pacey winger anymore. He's not a world class player but he's definitely now a very good player and will be a great addition to Liverpool. His previous problem was his finishing, but it has improved greatly in his seasons in Serie A.
The only conflict will be he's a right winger and I think Mane is also a RW ? so don't know what know Klopp is thinking. Maybe he will change Mane to the other side.

Good analysis for both players overall. Actually I'm not concerned with us not signing him except that I don't want to watch Liverpool regularly to follow him as I did in his other teams. Going to be painful for me.
Perisic is a better option for what Jose wants on the wing I believe. He wants a dribbler who takes the left half back and forth and provide width, so it's justifiable for me that we're moving for Perisic.
