Because the French league isn't challenging enough week to week. Not that hard to understand what I was getting at.
The French league has the most physical defending of any in Europe after England and perhaps Italy. It's a fine place for a young forward to hone his skills.

3. He runs down his contract an leaves for free.
Apart from this Sanchez situation, you hardly ever see truly WC players leave on free. Whenever they start producing WC performances, they generally do get contract after contract to keep them happy.

I'll not hold anything against Evans going to City. We didn't want him and he's under no obligation not to take what's probably a ridiculous wage across the other side of Manchester just because of that.

Liverpool can keep signing strikers, wingers and midfielders forever as far as I care, as long as they don't improve their shambolic defence.

Agreed.

what so is this a "We will loan him off you for 1 million a week and get him on a free once we have spent £180 Million over the course of the loan where we will get him on a free off you, WINK, WINK"

Think it's more a case of them being unable to have such a transfer on this year's books, so the loan allows them to defer the transfer fee until next year, with this year him only joining on loan. They may not even pay a loan fee, everything next year.
