Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

I doubt there's a "bidding war" but if we're both interested in signing Hammez, we should hold back from buying Perisic until this deal is concluded.

If Inter get Hammez then they'll need to offload Perisic to comply with FFP rules and we can buy him cheaper. If we get Perisic first we are giving Inter the funds to drive up the Hammez price.

Is FFP still actually effective though?

Well Monaco had to change the way they operate because of it. PSG and City seem unaffected though. Who knows to be honest.

Yeah I don't actually know the answer myself. Just know people have been claiming city can do what they like as FFP isn't a problem anymore so didn't know if it had been scrapped due to being ineffective or something?

Woodward's more out of touch with reality than a schizophrenic rich kid on acid. Getting sick of this wannabe Galactico bullshit tbh.
The bullshit is from the media. United don't stomp on the rumors because it draws attention to the club which is good.

It isn't good, it makes look completely inadequate in the transfer market when we are linked to Bale/Griezmann all Summer and end up signing a Perisic or Bruma for 50 million.

I hope we are not trying to sign this perma crock Bale. As much as I rate him but Real would demand a horrend sum and this guy is injured every freaking season for quite a time. No thanks to that.

He's the only constant during the last 5 years of failed Galactico attempts. He also pretty much confirmed it was gonna be a policy in an interview.
So is the receptionist. And our failed galactico policy included signing Pogba, Falcao, Di Maria and Schweinstieger. Maybe the managers ought to take the blame given they're most likely the ones picking the players.

I agree. It would be a waste of money. At nearly 28 I can't see his injury problems getting much better either.

While his injuries are certainly a concern, the main turn off for me regarding Bale is the fact that the guy doesn't want to play for us. Surely that should be the main reason why we should not be in for him. He's already tuned us down twice - that sends a pretty clear message in my eyes.

I know the story is probably nonsense anyway, despite what these journalists would have you believe. But you would think, as a club, we would have received the message loud and clear by now when it comes to signing Bale.

Another lot who appear or think they know exactly what we are going to do?

AS still claim United want Rodriguez
They don’t.

I've never seen it more obvious from journalists that they have no idea what we are buying. Literally plucking names out of their arse and hoping some will stick.

Who cares? As long as the players we get in improve us.
That's my point though, we have so many blindingly obvious imbalances in our team yet all we've done so far is spend 6 months getting Griezmann a new contract.

Exactly, failed. We signed a crocked Falcao when we could have got Costa, we signed a crocked Schweinsteiger, a Di Maria who wanted PSG etc.. Pogba is the only success and even then, we put more pressure on him than the price tag already brought with our relentless commercial whoring of him. Just think back to the Liverpool game.

We should be trying to sign hungry players with a point to prove, in positions that we desperately need to fill. Not big names with big problems like Bale or Griezmann who likes to complain about English weather every time he gets a chance. We have taken our commercial commitments too far and it has led to problems on the pitch.

Yeah we haven't contacted any other players, nor sounded out clubs and agents. We've just sat on our arse and thought "we have Griezmann".

The transfer window hasn't even opened yet, feck all teams have actually bought players. I guarantee our club is working hard behind the scenes to get Mourinho players he wants. As I said, window hasn't even opened yet. Hell, the 2016/2017 season hasn't even finished yet!

Real Madrid are like Bayern they never sell their best players unless there is good reason

Basti one example and i think Bale needs sold cause of injuries and they want finances to buy Mbappe

Hope we aren't mugs to fall for it again.

Real sold Makalele, Cambiasso, Sneijder, Samuel, Etoo, Mata, etc. They have sold so many fabulous players and will continue to do so.

But you were right when you said they don't sell their 'best' players...

He said that we have the financial power to sing any player in the world. This was during his first transfer window. He didn't say this would be our policy.

Don't forget Robben as well

A few people have talked about signing Real players as though we're too good for their 'rejects' but as people have said, they sell some great players and in case nobody noticed, we're not close to their level.

James, Bale, and a few of their other players would be among our best if we signed them.
