Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Rennes were idiots for selling him so cheap in the first place.

But I love the posturing from Dortmund - when we take their players they are so salty, now they get a talented but inconsistent youngster and price him for Ronaldo money.

Well, the 25% will be pretty handy if the fee ends up being 130m euros though, wouldn't have sold him for that cheap then!

Clubs such as Liverpool and Dortmund are going to lose 100 million when the market simmers next window. Granted, Dembele is worth 100 or more right now. But Courtinho for 100m? Liverpool could buy about 5 players with that who could significant improve on their current team.

Wasn't this Spurs' thoughts when they sold Bale? And also Liverpool's when they sold Suarez? Those both went well... :nervous:

He was in the last year of his contract.

fecking hate Dortmund. Bunch of hypocritical cnuts.

Remember when we bought HM and they came out with "Good luck in the Europa"? Which we ended up winning and being the CL while they continue to be a nothing club that has to sell and can't compete in a 1 team league...

What will they say to Dembele "Ha! good luck in one of the worlds biggest and best clubs who dominate their league and challenge in Europe continually" You can see why Klopp got on so well with the board there.

fecking pricks.

Why the feck are you having a go at Dortmund here?

I'm not a fan but I genuinely don't get how they're in the wrong in this situation.

They're all germanzzzz.... I don't think they care about people...

It was so cringe and petty when they wrote that in the official Mkhitaryan statement, I bet they felt so smug and mighty though, and then we ended up going and winning the thing

I'd forgotten about that.

Losers.

They bought him for €15 million last year and want €150 million after one good season there how can you not see the problem with that.

They don't need or want to sell, and they know Barca have the money and need to replace Neymar. Plus this late in the window it will be very hard for them to replace him.

There is no problem to see.

Why not? They don't want to sell, so if the player forces the move, at least they'd get a hefty fee for him. They also know Barcelona have the Neymar money, so are looking to take advantage of it. Everyone would have done the same.

What do people want Dortmund to do? Give Dembele for free just because he's acting like a spoilt brat and the mighty Barcelona want him?

And Rennes would get 25% of the Dembele fee so in the end it would be Rennes €50m (original fee + 25% from this transfer), Dortmund approx €100m so disparity in transfer fees wouldn't be that great.

The reason Dortmund got Dembele for cheap was because of that clause.

Plus his contract was ending and the fact that he was only willing to move to Dortmund.

Didn't they also call us "the fifth best team in England" or something like that?

I think it's settling in with Klopp just how difficult a job he has with Liverpool.

Indeed.
But he is right. If he sells Coutinho, to buy in an equivalent player would be near impossible.
Basically, there is no amount of money that they should sell for. The same thing applied to Suarez, when Rodgers sold him. By selling him, Rodgers effectively gave himself the sack.

That rings a bell. No class, petty trash

revenge I sweet

edit: I would love to see HM tweet them with a reply to that nonsense with the picture of him winking holding the Trophey

Monaco denies any deal. Also according to RMC, Monaco didn't receive any offer and Mbappé hasn't told to the club whether he wanted to leave or stay.

Not sure what is wrong with these dumb MF. He could have insisted in a decent buyout clause when he signed for them last year. There is no law required for that. He was an in demand player who could have gotten that clause if he insisted on it.

Their player and they can do whatever they want. They clearly don't want to sell their key player and they can demand as much as they want.

What's wrong with that? Why would they sell him for less if they can get more? Would you?

Making the best of bad situation for Barcelona I can get on board with that im no fan of Barcelona and there transfer strategy.

By that logic, how much do you value Mahrez at?

If we are doing it by Dortmunds logic and doing x10 based on a good season for Dembele then Mahrez should be free

There is no problem to see.

Really? So on a scale of quality and class give me the prices (if we were selling them) we should be looking at for Rashford/Martial based on Dembele and Mbappe transfer fees?

Absolutely not but Dortmund are sour bellends I'll never forget that tweet after we signed Mkhitaryan.

What people don't understand is this transfer market is so out of control now nobody is going to be afford anyone next season somebody needs to step in after this summer because apparently according to folk here a €15 million player going for x10 that the season after is ok and it isn't, I knew the Neymar deal would ruin the markets we knew it.

I dont blame Dortmund for trying to screw Barcelona over they think they can just walk into a club and everyone has to do as they say about time clubs showed them they can't get there own way.

Well, the 25% will be pretty handy if the fee ends up being 130m euros though, wouldn't have sold him for that cheap then!

Or they could have held on for another year and pocket the fee themselves. Maybe he wouldn't be valued at €130m, but 100% of €80-90m is still a lot better than €15m + 25% of €130m

Their player and they can do whatever they want. They clearly don't want to sell their key player and they can demand as much as they want.
He's not worth that though, Not even close. If Dortmund have upped the price to warn Barcelona off that's fair enough but if genuinely believe that is how much he's worth there nuts!

What's wrong with that? Why would they sell him for less if they can get more? Would you?

That depends on what there end game is as you can see in my post just above.

Ofc he's not worth that much, no player is but there's just so many ways you can say no to a rat club such as Barca, that is known for publicly luring the player when all their players and staff start praising them and saying how a great fit they are for Barca.

Dortmund obviously don't want to sell and they have every right to slap on some outrageous price, so if Barca really want him they can pay up. There's no need for Dortmund to be sport and sell the player at a Barca acceptable price.

Or they could have held on for another year and pocket the fee themselves. Maybe he wouldn't be valued at €130m, but 100% of €80-90m is still a lot better than €15m + 25% of €130m

You don't reach these levels by playing solely against Ligue1 sides for a small team. Dembele's exposure on the big theater playing for a big club made his price sky rocket.

They bought him for €15 million last year and want €150 million after one good season there how can you not see the problem with that.

They are under no obligation to sell him for a cheaper amount. In fact given the timing it makes sense for them to try and make any suitors pay dearly for him.

There is no master list produced each year by some fictional impartial body that creates a list of which players should go for what amount of money. Whether he is worth it or not, really does not matter. To Dortmund they either get to keep him or they get a shit ton of money. To Barca they decide they want him bad enough to pay the fee (which in a way makes him worth that fee) or they decide to pass.

Who is buying, when and why?

@M4YON Why are you so triggered by Dortmund's asking price for Demble? If they came for Rashford i'd say no until they fork over 150Million cash money. They have it, we know they have it and just like Dortmund I'll ask whatever I want for my player. Not sure why you are so defensive of Barcelona here and critical of BVB.

Not defensive of Barcelona they are bellends in the transfer market but Dembele is not worth €150 million I just hope its just a price tag to warn Barcelona interest off or if they genuinely believe he is worth that kind of money.

When people start paying €150 million for talent football is ruined.

That talent is one their most important players, and already one of the best wingers worldwide. It's close to the start of the season, and they have no chance of finding nearly adequate replacement in the remaining time. Mbappe goes for 180m. They can call up whatever they deem appropriate.
