How about Rabiot? I'm sure if he is any good at all PSG wouldn't be selling but was just wondering hypothetically regarding his overall quality and style of play?
I'm not sure. I'd like to say he's a bit like Carrick but I just don't know.

Rabiot insists he wants to play CM and not DM at the moment but he may have a better future playing DM.

So José said in his press conference today that we won't be signing a striker next season. Can we read anything into that re: Griezmann? Probably not, but he was quite specific in his choice of words...

Griezmann isn't a striker, though.

In the context of the quote he was talking about how forwards cost the most money. He said we had spent a large amount on Lukaku and wouldn't need to do that next season.

Griezmann is a goalscorer that sometimes plays as an out-and-out striker and sometimes in other positions across the forward line - it's splitting hairs to say he isn't a striker.

Yeah I've read that before but our centerbacks are especially popular and prolific.

Rio and Vidic set the standard really really high didn't they! For a really really long time. Probably why it seems like we've shipped out a ton of academy CBs. Even Pique had to move to get out of their shadow(s).

I can't say Mourinho playing him as a striker, though. I thought earlier in the market that this maybe be possible but once we get linked to Morata and Lukaku this idea became dead to me, as both are completely different from Greizmann in the play style.

I can still see us signing Griezmann but not as a striker. He'll be either the direct Rooney replacement, deployed behind Lukaku, or playing instead of Mikhi in a 4-3-3 formation as a right forward that always drifts inside and joining the midfield rather than hugging the flank and I think he can excel in both positions.

Still, one year is a long time. We never what can happen in this one year so better to wait.

Would be pretty funny if Milan had an awful season.

They have signed so many players that I find it really hard they can challenge for the title next season. They'll spend at least the first 2 months trying to figure out how to integrate all these players in a consistent formation.

If they succeeded in securing CL next season it's gonna be a good season for them. Next summer their transfers will be more of additions rather than building a new team so that's when they'll be expected to challenge for the title.

Next season is all about figuring out how to build a consistent team with their current players.

Yeah it's not all about buying new players but making a team out of them and they basically have a new team.

Apologies if this has already been discussed elsewhere but apparently the 'one' is confirmed as a midfielder as opposed to the winger.

Which is the most pressing position I feel. The biggest improvement we can make to our attack is getting Martial back to what he was.

Yep, ill be quite happy to not bring in a left winger (thought a right winger was more important tbh) if it means giving Martial another chance next season.
