My only worry is that he plays as a right winger. Because we have Valencia who is so good going forward and we don't have anyone like him at left back, it makes much more sense to play a proper winger on the left side and cut in/drift in type winger on the right. Otherwise we would be very wide on the right side but our left side would be non existent, would give us more variety in attack to have width on both sides

Lucas isn't limited to playing right wing only, don't know where this non-issue is coming from or why you're repeating yourselves on the subject.

He has played as left wing many times and can continue to do so.

I'm sure he can take another step in his development being managed by Mourinho. And with the more free-flowing back and forth nature of the Premier League, I think he's perfect for us.

I want him at United over Perisic, that's for fecking sure, regardless of the manager's wishlist.

Not that I don't rate Perisic, I do. However, Lucas is the better option and also the better investment.

Wouldnt mind Di Maria back actu .... nah couldnt even finish that sentence without laughing.

Is he good with his left foot though? If he plays left wing but can only cut in then there's almost no point getting him as we might as well play Martial/Rashford there. The point is the left winger needs to be able to go on the outside and put balls in the box, without that we won't stretch teams as they won't need to defend wide if we are always just cutting/drifting in (like we do now)

He is. He's basically the first super-agent - prior to Mendes and Raiola.
Ah, cheers. Now that you mention it, and I see the stories attached, I sort of remember him in the Tevez and Mascherano debacles.

Hopefully since we are not getting Perisic, Lucas Moura is the answer. He doesn't throw any tantrums and he works hard for the team and needs a bit more direction to be more productive. I think Jose could work wonders with him. He's only 24 as well. Martial, Rashford, Lucas, Mata, Lingard wouldn't be bad for wingers going into the season.
Can Lucas play left-wingback? If so, get him on the cheap.

Plus €40M to sign him in the first place

And barcelona will cave. They're the kind of club who allows its superstars to blackmail them. Messi signed 5 new contracts since 2008(2008-2009-2013-2014-2017)

Sure he's Messi, but Neymar's not that far behind

I actually think Barca will be more than happy to cash in on Neymar. There is no way he is worth the release clause and him setting the world on fire in the french league isn't going to make him the best player in the world either. I'd happily sell him tbh.

From Spain various national and Catalan outlets mention that Neymar is getting closer to PSG and that yesterdays's meeting between Neymar's father and the board didn't go well and it was announced that Neymar would leave Barca.

This is turning into a bit of a saga.

Barca probably wont offer him/his father the contract he wants and i can see them going to PSG because of money

Yeah, can't see them willing or even able to match PSGs offer. You can be sure there's a massive payment to Neymar's family on offer on top of the massive wage hike.

Let him go, him and his dad are mercenaries who are going to hold the club to ransom every year expecting to get paid more and more.

They can replace him and fix their midfield possibly with the money they get for him.

I can understand Messi getting a new contract whenever he wants but can Barca let Neymar bully them like this? They already paid him a large fortune when he arrived and he only got another new deal 12 months ago.

I seriously doubt they're getting bullied. If he stays he stays, if he goes they get 190m.

I actually think Inter want to sell him given the inflated prices that English clubs are paying. We'd be mugs to pay anything more than £40m for him; he's 28 and has never achieved anything of note. I can't believe we've spent the whole summer chasing this guy, reminds me of the Fellaini farce. We must surely have had other targets lined up.

They gave him a raise once because he only had under 2 years left and his release clause stays within reach probably because he didn't get the wages he wanted.

I think Di Maria is the one player I'd never welcome back regardless other than Tevez. He quit on us and wanted out. As far as I know he hasn't really said much about fans/club since then or blamed it on LVG. In fact if he just straight up said "feck LVG, he ruined my time there and made it impossible" I'd be more forgiving.

Let them wait, sounds like we've already offered something more than fair. They're the ones who should be moving a bit on price now, not us. They'll change their mind closer to to the end of August, or sooner if they don't want to keep a frustrated player in their side at the start of the season.

I wonder who the players offered were. Moura I'm guessing. I must say I enjoy watching Arsenal get self-harmingly stubborn.

If they could get Moura and Di Maria from PSG in exchange for Sanchez (they might have to pay some money on top but hey) they really could have come out well from what is a bad situation for them. I reckon Di Maria-Lacazette-Moura is a better attacking triplet than Sanchez-Lacazette-Walcott. Especially when Sanchez is no longer interested in playing for them.

They would get good replacements that they will struggle to get next year without using Sanchez as leverage and they would also eliminate the possibility of him joining PL rivals.

You're definitely right about that. Inter would be crazy to miss this opportunity to sell. But they're getting greedy.

Harsh about Perisic's career, however. That's why he wants to join United, to go from a very good professional footballing career to elite, with major trophies to count. Can't begrudge him for that. Fellaini is the same - he aspired for more and you know what he already has - fan cup, Europa league, league cup. And he can rest easy knowing he had a meaningful role in all of that.

Leicester and Roma still some distance apart on Mahrez, despite the fact that the player has already agreed personal terms.

Well if this is true Neymar and his father are a disgrace. He signed a 5 year contract just 6 months ago. In that period Barcelona have not won anything.

If he is going to moan about money every 6 months call his bluff and get rid. £196m is probably a 10th of the value of the entire club.

How can these players want more money constantly when they earn so much and as it seems with Barcelona players pay no tax as well.

Mourinho might disagree.
I get the sense from his comments that he accepts the situation as it is, to a certain extent. If Inter are unwilling sellers or only willing to agree to over-the-counter demands right now, then why force the issue at this point. Is ~5 extra weeks of Perisic worth giving up Martial? Their demands will come down.

Neymar's contract is ready at the Nataf Fajgenbaum et Associés law office. J-C Blanc (PSG general manager) came to take it.
