Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

This hurts, right now I actually feel this is the worst transfer not to happen ever. Worse than Thiago, worse than Ronaldinho, worse than Hazard.
Allthough I ultimately trust Jose and his transfers, I really don't see myself getting excited over a transfer again this window. There's noone out there I really, really want.
Meltdown completed!

It is pretty disappointing I will grant you that. Especially since it seemed so nailed on for so long. I think it will be very difficult to find an equivalent difference-maker at this stage.

This is what I'm most worried about Jose's relationships at clubs go down hill after he hasn't got what he wanted in the transfer window I'm genuinely worried about next season now

Definitely not. He said before that he gave Ed different choices and replacements for each signings and he doesn't expect all his plan A players to come.

What has Jose's relationships got to do with anything. You're worried at 1st of June?

As a tweet above said, he might just be sticking by the team because they are in an awkward situation. If Atletic have asked for the whole amount, there was likely no way we would do it. Jose surely would realise that.

That's what city did for years and now look they are better then us. We need to buy bale, Greizman, top MF the lot, we are so far behind city and Chelsea who will go out and spend again

That isn't going to happen.

Honestly, that would be the end of United if we're coming to the END of heavy investment. To me, we've only just started. Pogba was just the first in what should be 30 or 40 top level players owed to us by the Glazers for the money taken out of the club. Last summer, and the first under Van Gaal were the only two in which we've spent more than 100m net on players. That's truly insane from a club that should be aiming to win the Champions League.

By heavy investment I mean Summer after Summer of spending the entirety of our positive cash flow on transfers whilst bringing in half a new team.

You'll notice that the era of heavy investment and heavy squad turnover has coincided with awful results. Likewise that's been the situation with City - comparatively mediocre results after years of heavy investment.

We're likely to be at a point where we focus on maybe 3 first team players who'll make a difference during the Summer (possibly four this season due to Ibra).

If this season that's Griezmann, Fabinho and a Bailly type defender then we'll be in a much better position again; especially with Mourinho having a season under his belt.

You guys need to lighten up. It's not the end of the world that Griez ain't coming. Mourinho is brilliant in the transfer market and he will have scouted and reviewed more players then Griez that will improve us. This will be a long summer, but I have no doubt in my mind that we will be a lot stronger come next season.

So light up and don't be so got damn negative in here.

At this point of time I am just curious where we are going with all the cash in our hands. We are loaded, we will definitely improve and have a manager who knows what kind of players he wants for his system. Transfer window just started.

Definitely not. He said before that he gave Ed different choices and replacements for each signings and he doesn't expect all his plan A players to come.

There is no current available player on the same level as Griezmann. We have the worst attack of the top 6, yet we fecked up the transfer of the one genuine available world class player who wanted to join us.

We really should have went in hard for B.Silva and Aubemyang. This is just stupid from us, I'm sure we knew all along their ban wouldn't get uplifted.

It's not the end of the world. Griezmann wouldn't even fit our side.

The pessimist in me says that's the public image he wants us to see with the reality being very different

Judging by our transfers last season and Jose's comments regarding the transfers this summer, I am pretty sure we will get the players who will improve us next season.

Jose said we will be looking to add players with qualities that we don't have at the moment. At the moment we lack someone who can convert the chances and be clinical in front of goal. Jose knows this and we will recruit accordingly.

Just thinking about this.

Is it that we lack such players or our players capable of doing this just happened to have a bad season?

Just wondering.

Prior to the finished season, the numbers of Mikhi, Martial, Mata and even Rashford, were not bad at all. If they had stepped up their games and improved, most of our conversations here would be different. Unfortunately, in goal scoring terms, they all declined plus, we had serious goal shortages from the midfield.

I am not sure 'someone' would fix our goal scoring problems. We need to find ways of stepping up the games of our current attackers/ midfielders while also bringing in new players who can attack and score.

We should hijack Milan's deal for Morata. Don't think Belotti/Lacazette would be better choices for our attack.

I'm not pushing panic yet, I'm almost relieved in a way that Griezmann has buried this on June 1st - we missed out bigtime but we've at least got loads of time to re-evaluate. I have faith - ish. I just hope our signings don't pan out as my worst case scenario.

That isn't going to happen.

Heavy squad turnover has been an issue, yes. But that was partly required due to the dross Ferguson and LVG has accumulated. I agree Mourinho has bought well. And I just hope we're able to compete with City in terms of spending. I think it's important we avoid resting while others move forward. And we have two strikers on huge wages that are now well past their prime. Hopefully with Wayne, and sadly Zlatan moving on (in addition to getting rid of the wages of Bastian, Depay and Morgan) United can afford to go after some truly world class talent. We should really have the capacity to offer players like Neymar the wages they want with the money we have.

We are trying to. Well Di Marzio said we are interested in Mbappe and Morata so I'm assuming we are.

Wake me up when it's be start of the season. I'm watching the testimonial, going on jury duty, then holiday, then hopefully we have signed some people and I can watch pre season with some joy

 That's the spirit mate.

Keane, Dier, Perisic and Lukaku/Lacazette?

The poster I replied to said Jose may fall with Ed because his wanted transfers didn't completed, so I told him that Jose already said he had multiple names in his list and he didn't expect to get all his first choices, so nothing will happen between both.

Honestly I don't think we fecked this transfer. Till yesterday everything seems to be going fine, then the ban came and everything turned to a new strange direction. It seems from the tweet that it was the player decision to stay with them. Can't find anything to blame Ed for tbh.

Anybody who can put the ball in the net would be better than our current options. Rashford is still learning and is behind Mbappe to be honest. Martial is just flaky. We need to sign a lot of goals from a forward and either a No 10, or a wide man. Some of the players we do have are also going to need to pull their finger out.

'Blessing in disguise' is this years 'dead in the water'.

We need a #7, a #10, and if Zlatan leaves, a #9. Don't worry Muppets, I'm sure Woody is preparing a few bids as we speak.

He's a very versatile attacking player who can play on the wings, as a #10/SS or as a striker. How does he not fit?

He's exactly what we need, a guy who just scores, but people will say what they have to to deal with this.
