God I feel so deflated after that Griezmann tweet. Difficult to see how we'll have a stronger team than last year now considering the available alternatives out there.

Fully hypothetical but let's say this. We get Fabinho, Bale and Icardi. I know we aren't linked with Icardi but we should be IMO. He is also an example of a player who is never mentioned but that's not a reason to not try and get him if he fits the profile. Would you be satisfied with this?
Point is that we just entered transfer season. It doesn't look good at first, but there is absolutely no reason not to be very good at the end.

We can offer the best salaries and transfer fee's, just not to multiple players every Summer. No self financed teams can.

Just keep doing what you're doing, I find no reason not to believe you (at least not yet) and this doesn't change it one bit.

Atletico fans probably feel the way we did with faxgate. I remember going to work that day pretty depressed that Dave was leaving and got a text saying it was off jumped out celebrating like a mad man. Probably would have had a wank if I was at home. I hope to live that moment again this summer if Dave tells them to feck off.
As I said, hoping for a gem. I'd be ecstatic with Icardi, would Jose though? Hardly his type of striker. Also I wouldn't be happy with Bale, incredible player but he's a permanent crock. I don't see him coming to a more physical league and getting less injuries. Fabinho would be an immense signing and it's refreshing we are still linked to him, but he's not an attacking outlet.
Bale is probably the only one who can save this summer now, come on Gareth you've had enough of sunny Spain haven't you...
We shouldn't have to spend that much every summer, but bad business has forced that situation. Which is why we need to get it right this summer. Not been a good start.

This is where the term "Keep the powder dry" comes in, buying players just for the sake of adding a body is pointless, we need a genuine injection of quality.
Bale would be fantastic but no one has said anything and he's happy to sit on Madrids bench.
He's more worried about recovering his bones than joining another club.

I also question the sentiment that Bale shouldn't be considered because of his injury record. It's certainly concerning, but RvP's injury record before he joined United was pretty dismal as well.

How is Lacazette better than Lukaku? I have really not seen many of his games. But I like the price tag and Atletico Madrid has a knack for recruiting great striking talents. If they want him so badly, he has to be worth exploring.
Watching his highlights though, I really can't see how much better he is than Lukaku. He seems to have better technique and he's quick. Lukaku makes up for inferior technique with power and aerial presence. His pace is also not bad at all.
But why are we not breaking bank for that Mbappe kid? The lad is incredible.
