Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Be interesting to see if any of the other 'connected' journalists say something similar.

Also what's the urgency?
I guess we want to know if his heart is set on a Chelsea return. If it is then we can quickly move on to other targets.

He's not.

Yes he is, he has the first touch of an elephant, doesn't hold the ball up well or link play and has poor movement meaning with him in the team you have to concentrate your whole attacking system on playing to him, it will be like Ibra with a vastly inferior footballer.

Another possibility with this whole seemingly sudden change is that perhaps Zlatan and his agent have indicated he intends to move on after his injury and they have only just finalized that decision. So that means we have to adjust our plans a bit. Granted it is not the story the press is running with, but it is not like the press does not often get the basic story right but then spin the details wrong.

He's like that at his worst, yes. At his best he's unplayable. He's not worth the figures being touted but he's quality nonetheless.

He's never unplayable, Blind has pocketed him with ease, he's the guy that pads stats in games where the team is already ahead, he'sd not nearly good enough to build a team on if you have PL and CL aspirations.

Prioritising a number 9 over Griezmann has always been the smart move, even before Ibra go injured. We don't even need a 10, and I'd maintained concern about this from the difference due to my preference for a 433.

I don't know if some want a change of formation, or they just want us to sign a player for loads of money who is a big name, but Griezmann never made the most sense to me.

I appreciate we need more goals in the team, so we should look to do that within the existing structure. Gareth Bale, for example, would add the 20 goals we want from Griezmann and allow us to keep our shape, and crucially, not impact the effectiveness of other players.

Good post, its easy to get caught up in the muppet bandwagon but honestly what you've said here makes sense

lives out your way, is a bit of a smick (belfast term) but seems to have some decent connections

I'm sure he has connections. Its just funny to watch journos stepping over each other for attention. Reminds me a bit of Crocks feasting on Wildebeest during the great migration.

Didn't we reckon earlier in the year the Chelsea were going take the bullet for us in the case of Lukaku?
Costa will stay now. Chinese clubs got that extra tax and Atletico banned from making transfer market. We've got a free run at him this summer I think

This has to be bollocks. We weren't sure if Ibra was staying in the first place so how would a knee injury suddenly change our transfer plans?

I suppose if Zlat has said he isnt staying, it would change it.

Maybe they expected him to stay, based of what Mou said. He gave his list of players in March, it would be before Zlatan's injury so maybe they have had to re-evaluate signings

That, or its complete and utter bollocks

Not sure if people are suggesting, who he scores against and what the score is when he scores. If they are decisive goals or just feasting on teams who are already beaten? Don't know if anyone could find that out.

Why does that matter? We all play the same teams throughout the season and you could ask that about every striker. Didnt Kane pad his numbers near the end in some dead rubber games?

Yeah I mean we have Lingard and Zlatan with one leg, we will be alright

I know but still those players ain't going to be put us into title contention. If it was just them attacking-wise we signed by the end of the window I'd honestly be happy (and pleasantly surprised) simply to see us finish in the top four.
