It's crazy.
It's not crazy. I think many here would have been cheering and praising us had we rinsed Arsenal in a similar manner for Welbeck. The difference being Zidane probably rates and wants Morata to stay and our former manager didn't want our youth product more than a burnt slice of toast. I mean, as far as I know, they've both wanted out for regular playtime just as much (Morata and Danny that is)

Edit:
To add, it's not like Madrid are in dire financial circumstances. They're the second richest after us right? They have all the leverage.

Edit 2:
Not to belabor the point but if you won La Liga and the Champions League, what would you value your second highest scorer at in this market? One where Sigurssdon is not being sold at 40 million?

I'm quite partial to the odd bit of burnt toast myself.

That is a certainty but I don't understand why we aren't looking for an alternative to Griezmann. Surely someone like James Rodriguez or Bernando Silva would have improved us aswell.

I also don't understand why we aren't in for Naby Keïta imo the next big star midfielder in the making. I think he will be even better than Kante for whoever he signs and atm that is looking more like Liverpool than us which is really frustrating.

And finally I also don't understand why we aren't looking to strenghten on the fullback position. If Shaw and Young are injurred and we are not 100% content with Darmian and Blind, the thing to do is sign a new fullback no ? Preferably one that can play leftback.

I like Lindelöf and Lukaku and I'am happy with Rooney and Januzaj leaving so far but alot more needs to happen and I'am not sure I like the players like Dier, Matic etc we are linked with and I also think we need more than 4 signings to sort out our team and play a role of significance again in the PL and CL.

It is all good hoping Pogba, Mkhi, Rashford and Martial will do so much better than last year but I just think if we are depending on only that we are setting the stage again for a failed season.

Clearly because we are waiting to sign Griezmann next season but it's a bit of a mess imo. I'd rather we go for somebody else even if it did jeopardise Griezmann joining later than just risk going without a creative force next season. That could be the difference between challenging for the title and challenging for top 4 again.

Hope there's something else going on behind the scene. All this pandering for the Croatian Lingard.

Loaning Martial would be perfect tbh. He wouldn't get sufficient game time if /when Perisic joined anyway.

An injury to Perisic and Marial hitting form for them, we would look like the biggest mugs in football. No thanks, Inter can feck off. martial is there to compete and hopefully win the battle sooner or later, plenty of games for both

Exactly, Perisic is a good alternative at the moment while Martial is developing but long term Martial is the answer.

Im confused here, 4 new players in a starting 11 is a huge fecking difference. Its not just big names but what they add in terms of balance and dynamics.
Jose has said Lukaku will play in the final phase, that's different from Ibra dropping deep so the interplay between the front 6 is automatically altered. A ball playing CB and a DM that isn't Fellaini (ffs) that allows Herrera and Pogba more freedom going forward.
Never mind signing an honest to God winger who can cross a ball.
Im lost at how that's seen as not much different than what we already have

Well our defence was actually great last season so I don't think any signings there should be seen as making a huge difference even if the players are individually better. Dm could be useful but again, you're relying on players who were not productive enough last season becoming a lot more productive this season. I agree with you on Lukaku he is a huge signing and without him we'd have been in serious trouble. He should be an improvement on Ibra because of his movement. Perisic may or may not improve us. He's a good option to have certainly but at the same time he's not likely to be someone who contributes a huge number of goals and assists. An in form Martial would be much better for us than Perisic imo so I'm really hoping above anything else that Martial has solved whatever problems he had last season. If he has, that is pretty much a new signing. I'd like to think Mkhi will improve too but I have my doubts. I think he'll perform in the CL but I'm not sure he'll ever be able to truly adapt to the Prem and I hope I'm wrong on that. The biggest thing really is that 3 of those 4 signings wouldn't be certain starters imo. Considering that, it is understandable that some would be concerned, especially since we're still losing a massive player in Ibra (hopefully he comes back around December).

Well the CDM and winger aren't signed yet but presumming we end up with Perisic and Matic it is not so hard to understand people are disappointed with this and don't feel much has changed. Ok 4 new players in a starting 11 can make a big difference but it is hard to see us playing better football if those 4 names are not considered quality injections on key positions.

Lukaku just feels like a straight swap for Zlatan. Both good striker but both not perfect aswell.

It is hard to see Perisic having a big impact whilst other wingers like ADM and Mkhitaryan who are also used to operate from the flank and score alot more than Perisic didn't have that impact. Yes he is a more traditional winger and he crosses the ball alot but is that really going to give us that much more goals, I doubt it honestley. Again if you compare to Lingard or an out of form Martial, he improves us but not as much as someone like Sanchez or Griezmann or Bale or Dembele would.

Lindelöf will make our backline better sure but our backline wasn't really a big problem last year.

Matic to free up Pogba and Herrera and them scoring more goals than they did last season. I still need to see it before I believe it. I don't think the lack of a CDM like Matic prevented Pogba or Herrera from supporting the attack, they just are not good enough imo from an offensive point of view to warrant playing without a real n10. Getting someone like Matic won't solve that issue. Playing with a real class 10 behind Lukaku or adding a really good midfielder with football ability like Naingolan or Keïta would solve it aswell ( lop-sided 3 man midfield with Herrera a bit deeper as DM).

We are talking slight improvements here not big ones like we had last year with signing Pogba. People feel like still need big improvements to really turn the tide, that is why they are underwhelmed by these transfers.

But who knows maybay the puzzle will fit and eveyrthing will run so much smoother who knows. At this moment I seriously doubt it.

Martial would be behind Rashford on the wing anyway, unless you want to add injuries to him in the permutation.

Rubbish. We're playing PL, CL, as well as the cups next year. You need more than 1 player in each position.

We do.

Beijing and Singapore. Just his shit idea of trying to wind his followers up. Would be more successful if not for the photos of him with Luiz and Willian.
He seems like a bit of a tit tbh.

Yea if we are coutning on Griezmann next season and are jeoparadizing the current season for it, that would be a real mess.

Does Bakayoko think he's Pogba?

It's like he thinks he's the most box office player ever and Chelsea are some box office draw. Truth is, nobody cares much about either.

Is he signing for Chelsea or what?

Feck knows mate, it's hilarious though and to be fair to him, there are very few places he could move to that would live up to life in Monaco. Maybe Bermuda FC or West Indies United, but certainly not fecking Knightsbridge. Although with his attitude, he will fit right in,..

I have read about hundred people on here saying that in response to the dozen of tweets posted about him.

Idk but if you all don't care, why is the fecking transfer tweet thread filled to neck with stuff about him ?

I'd go for Dembele rather than wait for Griezmann.
