The fact that Lukaku has said he knew he was coming to us from May. I think we wanted Morata as well. Ibra going to be fit may have changed things on Morata. Of course how long is Ibra going to try and win the league with us. It might be a pity we gave up on Morata in the long term.
It's too simple a way of looking at it. We sold Ronaldo and replaced him with Valencia and nearly won the league. Football isn't a computer game.

Even Shaw isn't very good going forward. Lb is definitely a problem area in this team.
Is it mad to try out with Lukaku and Marcus as CF options with possibly Martial if it's a crisis chipping in and that way wait for Zlatan in the winter?

Looks like Perisic and Matic will close the book. Not really what people wanted and yeah we don't look a huge amount stronger than last season. The big thing that needs to improve from last season was Jose. The squad was better than the 6th best squad. Same this year. So need to improve there most of all.
But I would agree that it doesn't look like a title winning squad. I guess it takes longer than 1 year to build that from scratch when everyone else has all the monies too.

I think some players need to step up and make us stronger than last year. Martial and Mickhi the most imo.

I think it points moreso to the general lack of quality players in the dm position. Easily the weakest position in world football right now imo.

We have to hope sum of the parts is bigger than the names/individuals. The schedule looks great and if we keep injuries to a minimum, i can see us challenging, but most things must work from the beginning, no shit draws against cannon fodder would help.
Very strange Mourinho only wants two more players. As someone previously highlighted, we have lost many players through injury, arguably we are not even in a stronger position compared to last year(In:Lindelof, Perisic, Matic, Lukaku) out(Iba,Rojo,Schweinsteiger,Rooney,Depay,Shaw,Schneiderlin).
We made good signings so far but we need something special still in the final third and a quality defensive midfielder to add to that. Perisic + Matic are solid signings but nothing more, just can't see us winning anything with the current squad plus the two mentioned signings.

Mourinho does like a fullback who doesn't get forward all the time so Darmian for there as cover nicely as does Blind.
Has it been confirmed that Rojo and Shaw are out injured until December?
