Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

At first I thought Aubameyang didn't make much sense for us but I've seen a stat going around that we scored more counter attacking goals than anyone last season which is where Auba thrives. Maybe it does make sense? Would just be odd having a striker that's basically the polar opposite stylistically to Costa.

It's the Mirror, though so I'm not holding my breath. Running out of options here...

Bakayoko's latest Tweet translates to me as...

Plane. Plane. Plane. Red light. Red light. Red light. Monaco flag. Monaco flag. Monaco flag.

Is the deal off?

No. He's just trying to act as if he's the most important person on the planet and everyone is interested in his transfer to Chelsea. The truth is: no one care.

Glad we dodged bakayoko. Seems like a bit of a clown.

He will fit perfectly with the chavs.
Guess everyone forgets #Pogback and the huge circus that surrounded him last summer? It was just as annoying to fans of every other club but you guys.

It is getting cringey and hopefully ends tomorrow.

Why would Martial not get game time if Perisic joins? We are going to be playing lots of games.

I don't see us playing more games than we did last season and he was still second choice behind Rashford then.
He'd get some games from the left if Perisic joins but not enough for his development compared to if he became a prominent player for Inter for a season.

Remember Mourinho doesn't really give a feck about talent or potential if he prefers another player. He put Felipe Luiz on the bench all season for Azculapeta and he was the best full back on the world when playing for Atletico imo. As far as Martial is concerned, his game time would be severely reduced if Perisic arrives. Unless Perisic or Mkhitaryan flop, and Lukaku gets injured or something.

Pogba wasn't doing that BS on his twitter account, and Pogba's marketability is x2 that of this clown.

Mostly depends on if he takes his chances. For me I'd rather him over Perisic anyway. I don't see us paying what Inter want either too be fair. I'm hoping abit like Lukaku we have someone else in mind and it's been kept quiet.

Dunno what point you're trying to prove with the Azpilicueta/Luis comparison, but Azpilicueta is 4 years younger than Luis. How Luis performed in Athletico's system means little if Azpili was the better one for Mou's system. If anything it's telling that he uses the better player for the position irrespective of age.

If you're good enough you're old enough...

I'd be very happy if we were signing Auba. It seems to be you against Milan now with China's 100% tax.

Its not about emotional attachment to a player but more about business sense which you seem to have very little if that post of yours is to be believed. We paid €50m for Martial who is 7 years younger than this guy who has had his best season at the tender age of 28 and the figures of that best season were bettered by Martial at 20 in his first season in English football. Short termism at its best.

Didn't we pay 30 for him?

And my main point was that i trust jose. The fact that i don't really have an emotional attachment to the player makes it easy. If it was mata, who i really like, i'd be disappointed, but i still trust jose.

We paid £36m upfront with 3 add-on clause each worth £7.2m each making it potentially rise as high as £57.6m.

2 clauses pertain to easy achievements like Martial scoring 25 goals in the next 4 seasons, this one has already kicked in. So we paid £43.2m

The other easy clause that I don't think kicked in yet but will happen soon is that he needs to get 25 caps for the french national team in the next 4 years.

The other is that he wins the Ballon-d'or before 2019 which is not going to happen I think.

So when discussing the transfer fee off Martial the fairest amount is £50.4m

I'd be so pissed off at him if I was a Chelsea fan. Wouldn't want him after the last week of nonsense.

That's the beauty of it. He thinks he's winding up the fans of other teams when he's pissing off the fans of the team he is likely signing for. He's an idiot.

I still think we'll be in for a Rooney replacement in addition to Perisic. Those 300k wages will be burning a hole in Woody's pocket. Wouldn't be surprised if we're dangling DeGea at Real in part exchange for Bale.
I've just got a feeling about this too.....not based on anything, but just sounds like something we would pursue.

Martial + 20m if we want Perisic.

I don't know about the rest of you guys, and I know plenty say it's not our money, but if we do this deal then honestly we should just pay whatever price people ask cause we are suckers.

We'd look like the biggest pussies if we accepted the Perisic deal. Sooner or later, we'd bend over to Real Madrid and sell De Gea for a bag of peanuts.

Next "target" on the list please.

It would be fairly bleak to see Chelsea sign Aubameyang.

Hope they do. 29 years, huge wages and seems to be ideal for counter attacking only. Also looking like he was never on their list until we got Lukaku so there's a good likelihood he's far from Contes ideal striker. Putting numbers to it, looks like a 45-55 good vs flop transfer. Hoping for the latter.

So he costs around a Kyle Walker? That seems like solid business from us

I wouldn't be surprised if our two other transfers are players who already play in the premier league. I know Ashley Young hasn't exactly set the world on fire but he's been a solid servant over the years, and we signed him at a time when there 'wasn't any value in the market'. I don't exactly know how good Perisic is but I'd rather us look for someone who's proven in the PL if we're going to splash that kind of cash.
