I don't understand why we didn't trigger this clause the day Lukaku was announced as a United player. It seems like we'll make the mistake of waiting until the deadline to sign arguably the most important position we need to address this summer.

Belotti's hold up play and touch makes Lukaku look like Ronaldinho. I imagine for the price they are worried he won't settle in the league quickly, he's only had 1 season of top goal scoring also. It's a big risk.

Really? From what I've watched of him he looks a much better footballer than Lukaku. I agree it would be a huge risk, but so is our other supposed primary target Morata.
We only have Lukaku, Rashford as forwards, I actually think we could play 3-5-2 next season.

People complain about clubs not being quick about getting a player through a release clause (see us with Griez) but going through that means you have to pay the entire fee right there in one lump sum. PL clubs have money but they're not Google, 100m in one go would give accountants heart attacks.

They let 5 or 6 go on free transfers at the end of the season didn't they? Full back was a weak position for them. Good upgrades. Crazy prices. Don't really know what to think. If it all ever really clicks for city they'll have a brilliant team capable of challenging for everything... but then again it's city so...
