Why so much on fullbacks / Wingbacks?

On shite like Mangala, Demechelis, and Otamendi. Walker + Mendy are class and would walk into any other side in the league.

Mangala and Otamendi were supposed to be highly rated at the time. Walker was on a comparable level to Valencia and Moses last season and I imagine the hype surrounding Mendy will fade a bit.

What's the issue exactly? I have even said in his thread that I haven't followed his career closely and have seen him have good games. I'm not even against the signing, he just wouldn't excite me, what's the issue with that? If he comes then that's grand and hopefully he's nowhere near as bad as some make out.

City were weak in both full back positions last summer. Signing Mendy and Walker will improve them massively.
