it's odd that no major team is in for Auba, a striker who is pretty much at the top of his game, and has been salivated over time and again on Redcafe over the last few years. What is it? it's not his performances, because they're very good; is it something personal like an off-pitch attitude? have scouts caught wind of something troubling about his character?

He doesn’t suit any of the top clubs. He’s the perfect player to take advantage of Dortmund’s play. Put him in any other team and he will struggle to replicate his form. He’s not a very well rounded player but he has an eye for a goal.
I don’t see anything about his game to suggest that. He’s the complete opposite of what Chelsea play with upfront. No other team need a striker for the money Dortmund want and the wages he would demand.

Lukaku confirmed he was signing for united months ago, there was no real gazumping, he never actually prefered to go to chelsea only his agent chose united for the dosh that was made up, they were wrong and trying to save face. Auba is a weird one for me. Granted he scored plenty of goals over the past few years but he's a bit like Cavani/Higuain in that whenever you see him play (unless you're a regular watcher of Dortmund/PSG/Juve) he never performs and misses a hatful of chances.
I wouldn't want him for £60m or whatever the reported price is. Lop £20m off it and maybe.

New counting, 23 as #6, 18 as #8 or other (like chasing Hazard all over the pitch). (I had misplaced some Carrick's, sorry). Same shit, Herrera definitely played more games as #6. Personal records, collected week after week. But, if you find worth the trouble, check, for instance, these.

Herrera mostly played in a midfield 2 with Pogba. When paired with Fellani the formation became lopsided and Herrera played deepest however, that's the only time I'd say he played as a 6.
When paired with just Pogba or on a 3 with Pogba and Carrick he played as an 8.
