Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Also if Madrid is going really for Mbappe I can't see them doing 2 transfers in the same marker of that sum of money.

I think he's just guessing and has no clue.

He's got no clue. An interview with Lukaku doesn't change that :D

When people started to believe he has contacts because he hosts a fecking radio show.
Geoff Shreeves should be a football gossip God if you went by certain posters logic.

Not saying I believe the guy, but he's saying United think that Real Madrid still want DDG. It has nothing to do with what Real Madrid have said publicly.
And United told him this when?

I'm surprised how people haven't noticed how little comes out of United. Even to the journalists that follow the team closely.

This in addition to both the Madrid propaganda machines saying that Madrid want to keep Navas and United briefing multiple journalists earlier this season that we expected De Gea to stay.

Much more reliable than this guy.

I know Mourinho loves them, and Herrera has a height problem, besides other things. But our problems were indeed more offensive than defensive last year, so maybe we should be improving the attacking capacity of our midfield, with someone like Nainggolan. Why do fans also want a more defensive 4-3-3, feeding Mourinho's already immense cautiousness, is what I don't understand. Also, Mkhitaryan played everywhere last season, not sure he's got a spot taken.

Someone gave the perfect analogy.

We don't suddenly believe Ballague's stories on transfers because of his connections and I'd argue he has more contacts than PB

This guy is just talks a lot of B.S..

Even Fiorentino Perez himself said that they are not signing DDG and its not the style of man to stay quiet about interest in another team's player.

I know who to believe between Perez and this charlatan.
At the time Perez might have thought they were getting the Milan goalkeeper and now he is staying there. Perez is getting desperate to sign someone. Mbappe is likely to be staying for another season. He is getting twitchy.

Duncan was the first one in english media who broke the story of dani alves snubbed city to join psg.

It's more freeing 2 players (Pogba and Herrera) by bringing in 1.

If we signed Nainggolan (best attacking cm possibly available) he'd still be tasked with lots of defensive work ala Pogba last season. If we sign a DM it will allow our 2 #8s more freedom to join the attack.

Keita? what now?

Was responding to a post about how we should sign Keita

That wouldnt make no sense either as Dona would not have signed that contract if Madrid wanted to sign him. It's why he fought to put so many clauses in it.

This forum just loves a good meltdown. At least let's have one based on something plausible.

The media know how insecure our fans are and play on those fears. This guy is no different.

Funny guy.
All Summer we have been reading that Perisic is about to join us. Next week. 48 hours, etc. And he is still peddling the same nonsense.
And he is even talking about DDG possibly leaving, when it is clear that relations between MUFC and Madrid are not particularly good and Perez gave a statement about a month back that they won't be going for DDG, because Navas is doing a fine job.

This guy knows nothing...just as he didn't know that we were buying Lukaku.

Stats don't quite work though when the players are playing in different positions and tasked with different roles.

Herrera was pressing all over the pitch last season, whilst Dier was either sat in front of the back 4 or playing cb.

Take the names away and just have the roles and which would you expect to lead in both the areas you mentioned?

Tasked with laying DM I'd trust Dier more than Herrera, tasked with playing B2B I'd trust Herrera more than Dier.

Signing Keita from RB Leipzig would still leave us lacking a DM if we're going 433 or with no excellent 10 for a 4231. In other words he solves none of our issues.

I would have Herrera as the DM which frees up Pogba & Keita. Keita is very versatile, he's only 22. He can do any role in the midfield(same as Herrera).

Signing Keita from RB automatically makes Herrera the first choice DM. If Jose asks Herrera to stay in front of the defenders and not move an inch after winning the ball, he would do just that. He's very disciplined.

Keita can play as a DM too. He played 17 league games there last season. He's tenacious in tackling and his positional sense is near world class. Dier gives us nothing. I'd rather have Lee Cattermole in that role than Eric Dier. I saw all the 5 games Dier featured in last season's UCL....trust me, he's out of his depth!

Random person in marketing who's below Woodward but speaks to him a few times a week could be the source.

Maybe they still think that it's possible that Madrid change positions on going for DDG if they miss out on Mbappe and are preparing contingencies for it? Like I said, it doesn't mean it is happening, but preparing for something is always good. I feel like when people go after people with "sources" here that they're always talking about someone who actually makes the decisions instead of a smaller time employee at United. Not every word that's considered a "source" has to be a top level person at the club nor does it mean it's the official stance of the club

Forget Keita mate that's not going to happen. Well it had better not happen is more what I would want to say

Same with the fat bloke from FTD who claimed Morata will be done hours before BBC broke the news on Lukaku. They are all just based on speculation from the media to get hits and clicks on their social feed or website or whatever you call it

Possibly but I doubt it. Speaking to Madrid fans and browsing twitter and forums they don't even seem that bothered about De Gea. The majority want to keep Navas. I think signing De Gea, dumping Navas and not signing a big outfield marquee signing would annoy them more.
