Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Was going to say the same, for that sort of money, maybe we should have been in for him.

As others have already mentioned they would never have agreed to this deal with us I don't think. Plus, I really don't think we were interested, we're already stocked with unnatural wingers.

They were desperate to get rid and this was probably the best way in the end. Also I reckon if he does well and fulfills his potential at Bayern he'd probably go back to Madrid.

We shouldn't sign failed players we don't want just because they're cheap.
Also Bayern's recent transfer activity isn't impressing me as it once did. Costa / Sanches and now James are meh to me. Neither of those will be at the club in 18 months time

No, they just let other BL clubs do all the scouting then buy up the dangerous players using their financial muscle within the league if they feel threatened by anyone. Winning the BL year on year must be getting boring for their fans though, they really need a CL win (or final at least) this season to get back on track to the treble winning side they were before Pep took over the reigns IMHO.
That was what I was hinting at. That they cherry pick the best talent, weakening their opposition in the process.

I think Bayern are lucky that they have a great pool of home grown players to pick from in their own country, here it is not as great so we are more often than not looking abroad. With all our bragging we also seem to be doing business with clubs that don't want to do business with us.

Bayern is highly efficient in signing players from outside the Bundesliga aswell:
  • James
  • Vidal
  • Thiago
  • Tolisso
  • Martinez
  • Robben
  • Sanches
  • Coman
  • D.Costa
Müller, Alaba, Lahm and Schweinsteiger where from their own academy

Neuer, Lewandowski, Hummels, Kimmich, Götze have indeed been steals they made from the Bundesliga

But they are just highly efficient and effective in every part of their business. They have a great academy, they have a great way of doing transfers in their own competion and they have a great way of doing transfers from abroad aswell.

I would love to know how they do this. They make a lot of clubs look like amateurs.

Guessed we were never in for James, not surprising given that he was never a "Jose type" player. We still need more goals though, and our no.10 and no.7 jerseys still empty. Got this niggling feeling we might see a certain no.7 from London joining us - things are very quiet on his end.

We must have Perez' dick pics or something.
Or Mendes does . Anyways, i'd say let's wait for the official numbers to come out from bayern

Madrid news outlets are talking about an obligation to buy for €60M

He can play out wide and central midfield. Is young enough to improve and I think he'll do well away from Arsenal. Arsenals British players never seem to improve, such as Walcott, Welbeck, Ramsey, Jenkinson, Chambers, Wilshere...

I think a move away is best for the Ox, he's certainly better than Lingard. Worth a cheeky bid?

Thought as much when they said "2-years with option to buy". It's all Real trying to save face when they just wanted rid and nobody would take him.
Well, they've bought back Morata.

If he didn't make it at Bayern, why would we want him?

He Dint make it at bayern because of their philosophy which he is not a natural fit. He is a free range passer which would suit us more than bayern who play on posession passing sideways and backwards.

Where did you read that? Even in official Madrid statement they mentioned option to buy.

Edit: Looks like translation issue, in English site it says Bayern Munich reserves the right to purchase the player at the end of the loan period.

Because they're better than us now, and we have a Portuguese friendly management team. Also, they've said they are going to loan him, but it may well be to Monaco, maybe.

On the right, Yes.

We spent nearly £90million on Pogba last season. Mkhitaryan's assist record isn't too shabby either.

Creating chances wasn't the problem last season, so cheer up.

I disagree our football was far too one dimensional and predictable last season. Obviously the fact our strikers were anything but efficient didn't help either but I really believe our problems are far bigger than just getting a new striker and hoping that will solve everything. I was hoping for one of Bernardo, Griezmann or James to fill in that void we have in the team but they are now all crossed off from the board.

I don't fancy Mkhitaryan, Mata and Pogba to be enough in terms of creativity. I fancy Pogba in a deeper role not as a 10 in a 3-man midfield and Mkhi and Mata are good to play from the right side but we seriously needed somebody to take over that n10 position and that is not going to happen now.

Which number 7?
